We really hope you have too. While it’s great to see friends & family again, we want to remind everyone to continue to take care, stay safe and look out for one another. Lastly, we hope these photos from our lunchtime dance session (held last week) bring you a smile. We don’t know if we danced or laughed more!

21.01.2022 Hello Inverloch, Tomorrow is the start National Carers week. A week where we celebrate the wonderful people within our community, of all ages and backgrounds, who step in and step up to CARE for others. As 2020 has progressed and challenged us in ways we could never have imagined the role of the carer has been highlighted and the importance of this role finally a little better appreciated. ... Carers are people who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental health condition, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug issue or who are frail aged anyone at any time can become a carer. National Carers Week is an opportunity to raise community awareness among all Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles. An initiative of Carers Australia, it is funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Social Services and coordinated with the assistance and participation of state and territory Carers Associations. This year, Carers Australia is asking all unpaid carers to Tell Us Why You Care so that it can highlight the realities of caring and help build a carer-friendly Australia. By painting an authentic picture of caring in Australia, it is hoped to raise awareness of the incredible contribution that unpaid carers make to our nation. Visit www.carersweek.com.au for more information on how you can Tell Us Why You Care and get Involved with this year’s campaign. So finally, a massive thank you to all the carers out there. We see the effort, the time and the kindness you give each and every day.

18.01.2022 Hello Inverloch, Information from Bass Coast Health on the expanded testing for Covid-19.

15.01.2022 Hello Inverloch, ALL PATIENTS CAN NOW ACCESS TELEHEALTH As of this morning (Monday 30th March) the government has announced that ALL patients are now eligible for telehealth. This means that all patients can catch up with their regular GP via video or by phone to manage acute and chronic health issues. GPs can now also use telehealth to complete GP management plans, mental health plans and some other health assessments. We will be continuing to offer face to face appointment ...to those who need them. Please call the clinic if you have any questions on 5674 2700. We will continue to take bookings for telehealth appointments online through our website www.inverlochhealthcare.com.au or by phone 56742700. If you feel you require a face to face appointment please call us directly. As of today our pathology service has temporarily stopped. Pathology collection, if required, is still available locally at A’Beckett St Medical Clinic. Pathology collection centres are also located in Wonthaggi and Leongatha. It has been great to see each and everyone of our community doing their best to flatten the curve. With the start of official school holidays we urge everyone to do their bit and adhere to all recommended restrictions. We have a large number of very vulnerable people within our community that we all need to look out for. We all have a very important role to play and we can do this together. Stay calm, stay kind and stay home Inverloch. See more

14.01.2022 Hello Inverloch, Shout out to all our lovely ladies... it’s all about you this week! Yes it’s Women’s Health Week (7th-12th September) and this year the focus is on Health Checks and making positive changes. Covid has meant more time at home and often delaying health checks, doctors visits, breast screen, pap smears and the list goes on. So this week is about getting back on track.... Each day the Jean Hailes Foundation will cover a different women’s health topic and tell you about the health checks you need to stay healthy. Have a read and if you need to catch up- get in touch! Find out more at https:/www.womenshealthweek.com.au/ Jean Hailes for Women's Health #healthchecks

08.01.2022 Hello Inverloch, We have FLU Vaccines The much anticipated flu vaccine clinics have started as of today. We have received a limited number of government supply for patients over the age of 65 and for those aged 6 months to 65. ... Annual vaccination is the most important measure to prevent influenza and its complications. It is recommended for all people aged 6 months and over (unless contraindicated). Those eligible for government funded vaccinations are: All people aged 6 months to less than 5 years (this cohort is newly eligible in 2020) All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over Pregnant women (during any stage of pregnancy) All people aged 65 years and over People aged 6 months and over with medical conditions which increase the risk of influenza disease complications eg- asthma, COPD, heart disease. For those not eligible for free vaccination, we are currently waiting on an order of private flu vaccines. We will let you know when these are available. Things are being done a little differently this year. We are running the sessions from the back car park at the clinic with a GP and a nurse present. Four cars will be ushered in at an allocated time. Everyone in the car will then be seen by both the GP and nurse and given their injection outside their car and asked to wait for fifteen minutes ( BYO umbrella if required!!) Once the waiting period is complete these cars will leave and the next four cars will be allowed in. Younger children and babies will be vaccinated within the clinic and appointments can be made separately for these groups. We currently limiting the numbers in each session to four cars to ensure the safety of all and we will be working through the list of those who have already registered their interest. Any of our regular patients who would like to add their name to the list please either call the clinic on 56742700 or email your details ( and the details those who will be with you in the car on the day- same household only) to [email protected] Some pics below of Dr Sarah in action today with some of our lovely patients (taken and posted with consent). A huge thanks to our wonderful team for all their effort to make this happen. Thanks again Inverloch for all your support, flexibility and good humour in these challenging times.

07.01.2022 Hello Inverloch, A quick update from the team. We would like to thank our wonderful community for their flexibility in adapting so quickly to what is a rapidly changing environment. We will continue to be operating our usual operating hours with all doctors on board and are happy to answer any questions you may have.... Please call the clinic on 5674 2700 or visit our website for an appointment. We are aiming to keep our waiting room clear and are asking all patients to stay outside the clinic either in your car, or outside in the fresh air and call us on arrival. Many of our regular patients are eligible for telephone or skype consultations and this has been working smoothly. We have had many enquires about the flu vaccine and we will be advising you on our plans for this when these vaccines are available. Our thoughts are with the whole community at this very uncertain time. Thank you for all your messages of support and a huge shout out to the #thekindnesspandemic3996 who left us a care parcel this morning. We are all in this together.

07.01.2022 Hello Inverloch, It has been another big week for all of us. Firstly an update on flu vaccines. This year the demand for flu vaccines has been enormous. Unfortunately the delivery of government stock to all medical clinics has been slow and and in small quantities. This has been really frustrating for everyone involved. At the moment we are hoping for another delivery very soon and will let you know as soon as it arrives. ... As you can all appreciate this is a situation outside our control. Please be reassured that if you have already registered your interest we haven't forgotten you and will be in touch as soon as stock arrives. There is no need to call the clinic about this. Our community is doing an incredible job supporting each other and ensuring we all adhere to current guidelines. Please make sure you take time to check in on yourself as well as those around you. There's some great information to help you with this on the Beyond Blue website https://coronavirus.beyondblue.org.au Finally a huge shout out to the wonderful teachers of the area. As a team of working parents we have all found this last week challenging... You are all doing an incredible job. Safe safe, stay home and stay kind Inverloch.

It is a long list and please be reassured that if you haven’t yet heard from us, you haven’t been forgotten! It has been lovely catching up in in the back car park and thankfully the weather has been on our side. This morning we even had a little ABBA for company. ... We are approaching the end our first delivery of government stock of both over 65 vaccines and those 5-64 years. We are hoping for another delivery in the coming week and will continue working through our list. If you would like your name added to the list ( and you haven’t already been in touch) please email [email protected] with your name, DOB and whether you fit into the eligibility criteria for a funded vaccine as below.
