09.01.2022 Last week we recorded an amazing podcast episode titled Fat loss forever, or at least post lockdown. The title of the episode pretty much sums it up. Our goal of this episode was to discuss that weight loss isn’t the issue, 6 out of 7 people lose a significant amount of weight in their lifetime. However, 70% of those who lose weight, will regain it within 1 year, 85% will regain it within 2 years, and 90% will regain it within 3 years. Our problem is maintaining the weigh...t loss and the main problem is that most weight loss programs, diets, detoxes are not sustainable and are not a long-term approach. So how can we both lose the weight, and keep it off? 1. Education. Understanding what the science says works, not Karen on Facebook residents page. Most important Energy Balance 2. High carb, low carb, keto, fasting. Doesn’t really matter. It’s all about taste & personal preference. Having flexibility looks to be one of the most important factors for diet adherence. 3. Tracking your food in some way, shape or form. It doesn’t matter if it is tracking using an app, Precision Nutrition method, photos, or in your notes on your phone. Whatever works for you? It’s all about awareness and accountability. 4. Always bare in mind what works for somebody else won’t always work for you. We have different calorie requirements, different activity levels & different taste preferences, so you need to find what suits YOU. 5. Accountability is everything, hire a Coach who can keep you accountable, & troubleshoot issues related to training, nutrition and lifestyle factors. This will obviously cost money, but it is an investment! Would you rather spend $0 to go around and round in circles wasting time, and money on fads & detoxes to achieve no lasting results?
