Just a quick update to let the network know that TNT have enabled the economy express service into Australia. However, this service is still suspended for goods originating from China / Hong Kong. Do note, the maximum weight allowance is 300KG per consignment on the economy service. As a result, there will be delays in all air freight travelling through the Qantas depot in Melbourne for both domestic and international freight. A reopen date has not been advised.... 17.01.2022 Lost Shipment??? Today I had an interesting scenario where another company's shipment ended up at my client's customer's doorstep. The driver mistakenly left it behind ... which can happen. Noble of my customer to contact me to help assist getting it to delivered to the rightful customer.... Putting on my proactive hat, I called TNT to arrange the pickup and called the sender to advise if they were missing a delivery to their client and the action I took. He was appreciative and also mentioned that a lot of items have gone missing as of late, especially when you need the goods delivered in time and at the correct place. Though I can't control time and delivery, I sure can control the interaction between carriers and businesses, so that you don't waste time in dealing with these type of events. That means you will have to break down your shipments into multiple shipments over a few days if your shipment weight is more than 50KGs, which probably will increase your landed cost. I was out door knocking and came across a business who sells salt lamps, jewellery, etc. After our brief introduction, I just asked the question if they sell direct to public, as i was interested in buying a salt lamp for my son.... Though this business was a B2B, the owner happily gave one salt lamp at no cost to me. Karma ...
