25.01.2022 The response so far has been fantastic. A couple of the IOMTT riders at Phillip Island actually requested info about it. More on that later. Still working today but will post details of the proposed circuit and paddock this weekend. So please stay tuned.

25.01.2022 Update is that a couple of top tier TT riders have agreed to have input on the rider's perspective regarding track facilities, regulations, safety, general logistics etc. This will be assessed against the risk analysis plan that needs to be completed before going to government agencies for the various approvals required. It is a slow but necessary process.

18.01.2022 Still developing the risk analysis and management plan. It just taking a long time to do it properly.

18.01.2022 This could work in well, pre the Island Classic with the Taz TT held after the Island Classic. http://www.cycleonline.com.au//sunshine-coast-internation/

16.01.2022 Getting ready for the next IOM TT. This could so easily be Tasmanias Agfest site.

15.01.2022 A very well summarised article on the IOM TT. Highly recommend you read it. http://www.telegraph.co.uk//the-everest-of-motorcycling-i/

14.01.2022 Well folks in light of what has happened to the Qld TT, the focus will be back on the Tasmanian option. The Risk Assessment Plan for the circuit was already underway but is about to get serious and will be completed BEFORE any government agencies become involved.

13.01.2022 The Jewel of the Irish Sea the Isle of Man has been hosting one of the most extraordinary events in motorsport for more than 100 years: the TT Races. This year will be another big year. The first IOM TT in 1907 was won by Charlie Collier, on a Matchless with a fastest speed of 38.21mph. Last year Michael Dunlop made history in the Superbike race with the first sub-17 minute lap in history. His average speed was 133.393mph.... 2017 TT is going to be one of furious racing. Michael Dunlop will compete against 23-times TT winner John McGuinness, 14-time TT winner Ian Hutchinson who, in 2010, won five TTs in one week, and budding podium winner James Hillier. Norton is fielding Australian riders Josh Brookes and Dave Johnson on the new SG6. John McGuinness said: Its poised isnt it? Its good, citing the Norton team and Dunlop among the many elements making this years TT one of the most hotly-anticipated yet. Guy Martin, will return to the Isle of Man after a two-year break and ride for Honda with John McGuinness. John McGuinness has said he will retire once he matches the record of Northern Irish road racer Joey Dunlop, who won 26 TTs during his career. So 2017 is shaping up to be a historically big year for the TT. Things are also being progressed a bit further on the Australian TT idea as well. By how much will all depend on the success of some meetings in the near future.

13.01.2022 Tune in to ABC radio today between 4pm & 6pm on 91.7 FM or 102.5 FM to hear from Alan Kempster who will be the guest at the North West Motorcycle Show this weekend.

13.01.2022 For those attending the Island Classic this weekend on Phillip Island. Pamphlets outlining the basic premise will be available. An electronic version can be emailed upon request. However, as we will be slaving away trackside until Monday night, we will not be able to process requests till after Australia Day. Dont forget that ideas and contributions are welcomed on this page.

13.01.2022 We are setting up an TT headquarters in Devonport Tasmania but we need a volunteer to help with setting up and maintaining a database, field enquiries and do general research on govt and race regulations and liaise with the IOM & Tas Govt reps. The office is on ground level and is wheelchair accessible. The successful candidate will need to be a self starter, with loads of motorcycle enthusiasm, computer skills (Excel, website and Facebook management) and preferably some mot...orcycle racing knowledge or event management/planning skills. Hours will be very flexible but there is no salary. We are all volunteers. This is a role for a true TT enthusiast with computer and people skills. Age no barrier, mature aged persons encouraged to apply. If we are successful in getting the TT Tasmania Round up and running, there is a strong likelihood of paid work for official organisers. Volunteers will have the 1st option of taking up any paid positions that are offered.

13.01.2022 Time to put your hands up if you are interested in getting the IOM TT World Series that is likely to be launched in the next year or so to have a round in Tasmania. We have a circuit planned with nearly all the facilities already in place. Theoretically if we had enough organisers, marshalls and sponsors, it could become a reality in less than 6 months. Ideally it would be in January to February when we dont clash with the northern hemisphere race calendar and we have our b...est weather. If you are interested in finding out more or wish to offer your skills or time to making it a reality, please post on the page or email [email protected] (IOMTTT is short for IOM TT Tasmania).

09.01.2022 Looking at how much interest there would be if we ran a classic / historical event along the lines of the Manx GP for bikes in the same categories as the Island Classic, including side cars. A couple of novelty races could be added to the mix - eg Rider and bike must be the same age. ... A full on open category time trial race for riders with a disability, so no age restriction on the bike needed for them to compete. 4 lap relay for teams of 2 or 4 riders. If there are enough side cars maybe a relay race for them - swapping passengers or collecting items along the circuit to construct into something at the finish line. Other ideas are welcomed. We need to know who would want to compete in a full road time trial race and how many categories would they be entering (based on current Island Classic categories and regulations). This is for those who are experienced racers only. There may be an option to include a modified race just for novices - for those interested in having a go or wanting to live that life long dream of being a road racer. For us to proceed with organising such a huge an event we need to have some figures to take to government officials to get their support and approval for road closures etc. For those who have never road raced and that will be the majority - this is race that at 4-6 laps is nearly 200 to 300 km at race pace. You need to be physically and mentally able to maintain race stamina and alertness for a lot longer than short circuit racing. It is not for everyone. Ideally we would like to run the event shortly after the Island Classic in the hope that the majority of international competitors and their machines will cross Bass Strait to compete. Why after? Thirty+ year old bikes are more likely to break down in what will also be a race of mechanical endurance and reliability for these grand old machines that are not getting any younger but deserve race glory to the very end. If interested - message us on this page or email us on [email protected] Still need an office support staff member to collate data and names. If anyone out there is interested with the necessary computer skills, please contact Carolynn on 0401 160 144 or email message us.

08.01.2022 It is a sad ending to this years IOM TT with two more death at the closing stages of the event. http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-motor-man-idUKKCN0YW27A But we should not reflect only on the darker aspects of this extreme sport, which at its heart is a celebration of life and the human spirit.... Apart from the riders themselves, there are many who also dedicate themselves to this sport. For example today Terry Moore completed his TT marshalling duties for the last time as he handed his bib in after 65 years of service to the IOM TT and Manx GP. These people are as much a part of the story of the TT and road racing as the competitors and Terrys contribution has helped make the TT part of a world phenomenon. There are many more stories like his, that the media ignore. It is up to the fans to make sure they are remembered.

01.01.2022 IOM TT will be starting soon - 28 May to 10 June 2016. The Taz TT is progressing slowly. We still need an admin person to take on the role of massaging government and departmental inquiries for 2 to 3 days a week. Anyone interested please contact 0401 160 144. In the meantime a trip down memory lane....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhGqg5dWu-w

01.01.2022 Recently the Burt Munro Challenge (BMC) Committee voted to move the event from Nov to the 2nd week of Feb. See https://www.facebook.com/BurtMunroChallenge/?fref=ts This is a huge boost to the Isle of Taz TT as it brings the major motorcycling events of the Island Classic, BMC, and Isle of Taz TT together into a much more manageable and attractive time frame. As some will recall our original proposal for the IOM TT World Series was to have Round 1 in NZ possibly as part of th...e BMC programme and Round 2 in Tasmania. The timelag between the events was an issue which the BMC organisors have now kindly addressed for us. One top of that Guy Martin, while he was at the BMC in Nov 2016, was introduced to the Isle of Taz TT concept and gave his stamp of approval. So far 6 top tier IOM TT racers and now Guy Martin have approved of the concept. Risk and Safety Management Plan is still underway.
