25.01.2022 Thanks to our Work with Purpose partners, contentgroup, the IPAA team we rugged up over winter (and on those chilly Canberra Summer mornings) in #workwithpurpose hoodies. Until COVID-19, one of IPAA's key offerings had been face-to-face event delivery, so branching out into the world of podcast production has been a learning curve. However, thanks to contentgroup and the Australian Public Service Commission it's been a great success. We've really enjoyed hosting such an exceptional range of speakers on the program, and look forward to future episodes. #ipaaACT #atworkwithipaa #buildyourconnections #challengeyourthinking #canberra #publicservice #office #work #canberrasummer #contentgroup #workwithpurpose #ootd
24.01.2022 There are just two weeks to go until the world’s first GovComms Festival. In the lead up to the Festival, we thought that we would give you a bit of background behind the company that will be running this virtual event. contentgroup is a strategic communication agency in Canberra whose mission is to help government strengthen communities’ and improve the wellbeing of citizens through effective communication. They provide a range of services related to strategic communicatio...n, content creation, community management and evaluation. Founder and CEO of contentgroup David Pembroke is the host of the GovComms podcast, a podcast that explores the industry of government communications through conversation with industry greats, experts and innovators from around the world. It was this very podcast which inspired David to create the GovComms Festival. To be a part of the Festival on November 17th, register here: https://hopin.to/events/govcomms-festival #GovCommsFestival #GovAfterShock #governmentcommunications
21.01.2022 We recently had the soft, snuggly pleasure of ted-sitting an over-sized plush bear for a couple of weeks. At first it sat in the corner of the office looking inconspicuous, and we'd just walk past and casually remark on how big and cute it was. It didn't take long, however, for bear to become a fully-fledged member of the IPAA family, assisting in the studio and rolling up its sleeves, as is the IPAA way! Our events team became particularly partial to the group bear hug, whi...ch they justified by corporatising the act as a, "mental health support break with the safety share bear." Only four more events left to go! #ipaaACT #atworkwithipaa #buildyourconnections #challengeyourthinking #canberra #publicservice #office #work #carebear

12.01.2022 Meet Frank Exon, IPAA’s National Executive Director. Frank provides support to IPAA’s National President Dr Gordon de Brouwer PSM and IPAA’s National Council, as well as managing and writing content for IPAA’s national website. He is based in the IPAA ACT office and is an enduring member of the IPAA family.... In addition to providing secretariat support to the IPAA National Council, Frank is as close as we get to having a resident academic. He’s a wonderful writer (with a penchant for penning historical papers) and editor. He is also passionate about all things public service, and has an astounding knowledge of public service history: its people, governance and truly weird and wonderful public service facts that, are, well, just so very Frank! #ipaaACT #atworkwithipaa #buildyourconnections #challengeyourthinking #canberra #publicservice #office #work
11.01.2022 Congratulations to the nine new National Fellows of the Institute of Public Administration Australia announced today by IPAA National President, Dr Gordon de Brouwer PSM. This includes awards to IPAA ACT Councillors Professor Mark Evans, Director of Democracy 2025, and Elizabeth Kelly PSM, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources. The award is made annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to public service and to IPAA.
06.01.2022 He re's Gemma, our Corporate Director, and friend Ellie Carmichael from the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment ‘Working out with Purpose’. When remote working began in March, Gemma and Ellie met a few times a week for lunchtime boot camp - a perfect (though some may say insane) excuse to get out of the house into the fresh air. As both of them are now spending more time in the office, they are trying to keep up the regular workouts doing yoga or pilates af...ter work. The oval and yoga studio are five minutes from each of their homes so they have no excuses not to go! #ipaaACT #atworkwithipaa #buildyourconnections #challengeyourthinking #canberra #publicservice #office #work See more
