18.01.2022 Alberto, an athlete with an intellectual disability, and the team from Life Stream Australia (an organisation that facilitates the development of skills and independence of people with disabilities) visited IAS for a Q&A with students about people with disabilities. A great follow up for the Year 3/4 class who have been learning about social justice issues experienced by people with disabilities in Integrated Studies. Alberto is currently ranked number 1 in Australia as the fastest 400m runner in his category, which meant a running race on the school oval to complete the visit.

16.01.2022 On Thursday, the 19th of November we celebrated our Year 6 Graduating Class of 2020. They are small in number, but have left a big impression on our lives with their respect, creativity, compassion, helpfulness and quirkiness. The students enjoyed celebrating with a fun bowling outing and by spending time with their family. Although we will miss our Year 6s we wish them the best as they leave our school and go on to new and exciting things.

02.01.2022 Ipswich Adventist school recently received funding through the Australian Sporting Commission’s Sporting Schools program to have a basketball coach come and work with our students in their PE lessons for four weeks. The students have had a lot of fun learning new games and skills to use when they play basketball. Our school has benefited from the experience and inspiration of the coaching provided by Ipswich Basketball Association.
