25.01.2022 Our new glasses in 1/2C that have special poetry lenses! We made these magical glasses this week ready for reading and writing during our Powtry Unit next term! They help us to find our sound devices of alliteration, rhyming and repetition! Bring on Term 4!

25.01.2022 Only two more sleeps till our last playgroup for this term! This week our playgroup friends will learn how farmers help us by reading Frank the Farmer. They will make fruit kebabs to enjoy after playing on the obstacle course at the undercover area. We hope the see you this Wednesday at 9am! Dont forget to sign in the office!

23.01.2022 Hands on Mathematics measurement activities in Year Two, focusing on mass and capacity. SOARing in Mathematics at IESS!

22.01.2022 This term, Year Four students have been learning about Japan and comparing the Japanese way of life to ours in Australia. Today we had a lesson on using chopsticks, Japanese clothing and followed some instructions in Japanese. SOARing in Year Four!

13.01.2022 We cant wait to meet our future Prep students next term! Our transition mornings start Week 1 and run every week of the term. At IESS we value getting to know your child and your child getting to know all of the staff that will support them when they start school in 2021! Our transition flyers are ready for delivery (Playgroup flyer is on the back) and will arrive in your home mailbox by the end of the holidays! Copies are also available from the school office and Mrs Cameron will be delivering copies to our local kindy providers tomorrow!

12.01.2022 Just a reminder that we have Prep Transition tomorrow morning from 9-11am. Please bring a hat, water bottle and fruit snack for your child. The parent session will be run in the conference room (in library building) due to the heat. We can’t wait to see our future Prep SOARers tomorrow!

IESS welcomes the Hear to Learn School Hearing Screening Program. The screening for our students will take place on Monday, 26 October 2020. Consent forms... In previous years, we have used paper consent forms for the Hear to Learn program. We now use online consent forms. The consent form is very user friendly and only takes a few minutes to complete. Please note: Online consent forms do not need to be printed as they will be generated by our team. Parents will receive a confirmation email when they have completed the online consent form. The online consent form will expire on Sunday, 4 October 2020. We have found the online consent forms dramatically reduces the handling time of paperwork for both the schools and our team. 05.01.2022 Another week of fun with our playgroup friends! Today we had more new friends join in the fun! ‘The wheels on the bus’ book had everyone singing along to the story. Our buses (and one rocket) turned out great and outside time with Mr P was a hit! We can’t wait till next week!

At IESS, we work in partnership with our local high schools to ensure all of our students have a successful transition to high school!

02.01.2022 Continuing to celebrate our volunteers this week. Thank you to Linda, Shirley and Kimberley for their work in the Kids’ Cafe this year. We appreciate all that you do!

02.01.2022 This Term in Chemical Science: We are learning about properties of materials through making predictions and describing changes. We are very grateful to the Thompson Family for bringing in three different colours of Ochre that they collected on the weekend. Jharal helped his Mum grind up the Ochre before bringing it to school to share in Science. Jharal’s family use Ochre to paint up for dance. Thank you for sharing something so special with our School - Keep SOARing!

01.01.2022 Mr Lorimer will be visiting C&K tomorrow morning to spend time with the kindy children! He will have to check out the sunflower garden when he visits! If you would like any more information about C&K please collect one of their flyers from our office or why not give them a call! Attending a kindergarten program provides your child with a great start!
