25.01.2022 The Ipswich SHS Girls Rugby League program has finalised their sponsors for 2021. Welcome aboard to our following supporters: Major sponsor: University of Southern Queensland Silver Sponsors: Sports 1st Aid Services and Wizzard Concreting... Bronze Sponsors: Iron Traks Sports Mentoring, Jets Leagues Club, Zena Protection, Lockyer Valley Bus Services & Rebel Sports. We would also like to thank the Australian Sports Commission for awarding a $3500 grant for AFLQ, the NRL, QRL and Australian Rowing to come into the school and run their programs for students throughout Term 4. In addition to this the school was provided a $10,000 grant to install new goal posts and post protectors for our Junior girls rugby league field. We are looking forward to an exciting 2021!

23.01.2022 Ipswich State High School students entered the Child Protection Week Art Competition ‘What does safety mean to you’. Tilly won age category 12 to 18 years and Mei received a highly commended. Ipswich State High School was awarded a prize for the outstanding effort by all students, which was gifted to the Young Families Connect program.

07.01.2022 Our Year 7-10 Girls Rugby League students kick off Term 4 in week 2, heading to the Gold Coast for the Annual Allsaints 7s rugby union tournament followed by a home game against Wilsonton SHS and preparation for their week 3 clash against Marsden SHS. This will be our open girls final game of the year with our Year 12 students wearing the Superhornets colours for the last time. 06.01.2022 Last week SWO, YSC and SRC came together to raise awareness for both Bandanna Day and Day for Daniel. We sold bandannas for Canteen to help them support young people impacted by cancer and also ran a number of activities for Day for Daniel to help raise awareness on how our students can stay safe. This included messages of safety, games and our own in-school walk which traditionally is run by the community but due to COVID restrictions looked a little different this year.

Important information is coming home via your student today. Notes will need to be returned if your student chooses not to participate OR if they want to confirm their participation for this event.

02.01.2022 Year 11 Ancient History students were tasked with creating a multi-modal piece showing how their chosen Greek Myth reflects significant aspects of life during the Bronze Age. These students created art pieces depicting the myths of Persephone, Medusa and Pandora.
