18.01.2022 We hope everyone is staying safe and well in the current climate which is constantly evolving. For player safety, all play by IVTA is suspended until further notice. This includes all fixture games and social play. The safety of all members is our top priority. 13.01.2022 Reminder re Season Christmas break-up party on 1 December for members, floaters, helpers and their partners to celebrate the good times we have had during the 2019 playing year. Cost: Members $10 , Helpers (such as canteen workers) $15 and Partners/Non-Members $25. Please RSVP to Jim or Jocelyn to attend by Sunday 24 November and give payment to Jim Firth. Payment can be made by cash or direct deposit to Bank Account. Please put your name and Xmas in the reference section o...f your bank deposit. If you can no longer make it, please let us know as we must confirm numbers after the 24th. You really dont want to miss it though because it will be fun! On Sunday 1 December, please arrive between 12noon and 12.30pm for lunch ordering of a main meal about 12.45pm from the cafe menu. Dessert platters as well as Tea and Coffee will also be supplied along with Xmas Punch. The Cafe is licensed so you can order beverages at your expense if you wish to do so. Look forward to seeing everyone there for some lucky door prizes, we will have some raffles going, fun and games plus presentations. Get your cheer on and feel free to dress up in Christmas colours!

10.01.2022 Based on current great work by Queenslanders in flattening the curve, we will be trying to restart our Vets tennis with a social play day on Sunday 9 August for all members at midday (cross fingers and toes that there is no COVID resurgence in this state otherwise we may need to revise date). Now that the border has opened and more folks are moving around generally, we are taking a cautious approach as the health and welfare of our veteran members is paramount to us. Unfort...unately some adjustments to our afternoons together will be required such as - Everyone must practise social distancing of at least 1.5m unless in same household, wave hello rather than shake hands or give a hug, and please do not come to the courts if you are feeling unwell. Get better and see us next time! Hand sanitiser will be available for regular use and you should bring own food to eat on the day. The Committee is looking foward to seeing everyone back on the 9th August and we will be chatting about the format for the remainder of the year. Until then, stay safe and stay well. Anyone who wants to return early and have a hit can reach out to their fellow members and arrange own court hire in the meantime. The courts are open for use. Thank you for your patience as we work through these strange times. We will be back together soon!

09.01.2022 Social day tomorrow is cancelled. Based on City of Ipswich being a local government restricted area and a long list of places visited by Covid-19 affected people within the greater Ipswich area, we will be doing our part to assist in keeping not only our members safe but that of the public, and not playing Vets tennis tomorrow on 30 August. The Committee will continue to monitor and reassess before the next scheduled social day on 13 September so keep checking back here for ...updates. AGM will take place on 27 September as originally scheduled although the format may be different this year potentially. Its a wait and see how things go over the next few critical weeks for Qld. Safety is always our first priority and we appreciate the understanding from members. Please inform fellow members not on Facebook or email please. Im sure they would love a chat with you anyway! Congrats to Craig for winning candy cane toss, Best Dress Man - Bill Slag, Best Dress Lady - Joan, the Baubles for knowing their Christmas Alphabet, Craig & Gary for dodging knock-out Christmas Corners, Jane and Gordon for having the everything in the handbag/wallet, and to Joan, Jane, Craig and Darryl having the jolly spirit to sing a carol.
