25.01.2022 What annoys solar buyers I think there’s four things that annoy buyers when they dive into solar. Probably more, but these are the four I see over and over. 1. Pushy sales people trying to extract a decision today on this call if possible! ... 2. Too much information. When you start looking into solar you get swamped with people giving you information. It takes a while to absorb. This makes decision making hard. Solar isn’t intuitive the brands are not familiar. The concepts are not familiar. Very few people know enough to explain it well. 3. Lack of context to information you’re given too much detail without it being useful. 4. Sellers have an axe to grind so they’ll tell you what they have is the best. It probably isn’t. This leads to wildly varying advice, which leaves people feeling a bit dumb, and certainly annoyed. I have know many people who have given up their search for solar because it just didn’t make sense this person tells them this, and the next person contradicts it. How we try and make your life easier. 1. We make it simple. We tell you what it will cost, what it will save. 2. If you want more info, we have that too (20 videos on our website explaining useful topics) 3. We have choice from low price to the deluxe. We cover all major brands of panels and inverters. 4. We are experts. If you’re sick of being pushed around, and just want to speak to an expert we’re here. Reach out... https://www.iqsolar.com.au/ [email protected] 0424 225 097 Stuart Gordon

25.01.2022 For those in the Energy world, this is an official kick off of our Energy Leaders Forum series of events, to be held Thursday next week (20th Feb) Check out the lineup of speakers and book yourself in.

24.01.2022 Ramping up production is going to send the price of batteries down considerably. Looking forward to what that brings...

24.01.2022 Building? If youre in the process of building, its a great time to talk about high quality solar power for your new home. Depending on who your builder is, we can work in with them to do the work towards the end of the construction. ... Or, we can be ready to put solar on as soon as possible after handover . Either way... we can provide high quality systems that will give you savings for decades.

21.01.2022 a funny diversion...

20.01.2022 Solar is still continuing... If you want to do something to get your power bill under control... its a good time to act. Message me or call (number on our website www.iqsolar.com.au) ... We can deliver an accurate proposal and savings prediction to you without visiting you... Id be happy to explain how we work.

19.01.2022 Detailed monitoring from Solar Analytics It has been pointed out that its a bit creepy when we can see when people are making cups of tea because of the power monitoring in the house... But... it is almost the best monitoring you can get. The only one which I like more is the Enphase system which has the advantage of showing individual panel output, but has less detail on usage... it still shows usage, but only in 15 minute blocks. Either way... seeing both the solar production and the household consumption is fascinating.

18.01.2022 Brilliant... (non solar)

17.01.2022 amazing development

17.01.2022 We are now able to offer the Tesla Powerwall 2 battery system, having achieved our Certified Installer status. I am pleased to say that we can now offer the best storage system available, which will let you do two main things: 1. Save power and use it when you need it, rather than export power. ... 2. Have power in the event of a blackout. Ive been involved in batteries since early on in my solar career (which started in 2010), and I spend a year or two at LJW Solar, who are one of the longest standing off-grid companies in Australia. So, it was an amazing learning curve there. I was in some off-grid and hybrid projects, and the training was really useful. Since then, weve seen the price of batteries fall and fall. And the technology is better than ever. I think the Tesla Powerwall is the simplest, best performing, and most economical units available. The Powerwall makes storage incredibly simple as well. It does everything on its own... and the monitoring system lets you see exactly what is happening with power flows ie what is being produced by solar, what is being drawnin from the grid, what is being used from the battery. Its a large storage system, with a usable capacity of 13.5kWh, and multiple units can give you even more. If you want to look at some details about what it can achieve for you, lets talk. 16.01.2022 How does solar perform in the rain? Not well... but it is a game of averages. Its balanced by the good days. This video shows you the monitoring we get from an Enphase system and what good days andbad dayss look like.

16.01.2022 this is a very clever move by South Australia to change behaviour and use all the solar power generated

15.01.2022 AGL says it is getting harder and harder to keep the ageing Liddell coal fired generator on line because it is so old and the cost of maintenance to keep it ope...rating would push up its levellised cost of electricity to more than $110/MWh double that of renewable energy alternatives. http://ow.ly/7Iea50y8vP7 See more

15.01.2022 This is a testimonial from Jrgen Schmechel who liked how we showed him what he could do on his property, despite some obstacles. Now, he may not end up buying solar, but that is OK. Im always happy to help people understand what their options are. ... Youll get objective, experienced advice. We do a thorough system design, and show you what the system will produce, and what it is likely to save you. And of course a quote. But what you get is so much more than a quote. Its knowledge, understanding and help. So, if youre curious if your property is suitable for solar... or what it wold achieve for you... please reach out and I can show you what you could put on, and what it would save. 11.01.2022 This is a 13.3kW system that went in yesterday. It uses Longi 350W panels, and a three-phase 10kW SMA inverter. It went up in 1 day, with an install team of 4. A system like this will cost around $12k, and can save you around $1000 a quarter, depending on your usage pattern. ... We are busy installing... solar has not stopped. Solar gives you certainty - If youre keen on cutting back on your power bills, drop me a note. ~ Stuart

10.01.2022 How many aspects of the roof can I use? The short answer is, if youre using a string inverter system, two aspects. This is because an inverter will typically have two MPPTs, or Maximum Power Point Trackers, which are in simple terms, independent inputs. And each input is a string (which might be a row of panels... say 5-14 panels) ... Its a fraction more complicated, as sometimes you can have two aspects on one MPPT if the # panels is the same, and the inverter allows for a parallel input on one MPPT .So, in some cases you can manage three aspects on a standard inverter. With Enphase microinverters, you can have as many as you like, as each panel is fully independent. With optimisers such as Tigo or SolarEdge, its a more complicated answer. Two is still good advice. This drone footage shows three aspects. In this case, the solar was put on the garage due to the shading from the gum trees, so its a small system. It uses a Goodwe MS series inverter which came out in 2020, and is a unique offering with three MPPTs, so the North, East and West sections are all truly independent of each other. So with this inverter you can use three aspects, just like on this garage. Its a nice little system. In mid-winter, the northern section catches shade from the gums still, but that will pass within a month or so as the position of the sun lift in the sky. For a thorough assessment of your property and what could work for you you know what to do.

10.01.2022 Its amazing to consider the impact that Australia has had in solar globally.

09.01.2022 Great overview...(some facts are USA based)

09.01.2022 This is a great article that explains that confusion is one of the reasons people dont buy solar. I see this every day, and try and simplify what systems will do for people, and break it down into Cost v Benefits. My goal is always to show people what it will save them, rather than just guess. Let me know if you want a decent explanation :)

08.01.2022 This is a system in Avalon we installed using Longi 350W panes and Enphase microinverters. The owner (and us) can see the individual output of each panel, as well as the consumption in the house, making it a great system. Its been performing well... and yesterday I took some drone footage because I was in the area. What a view!

06.01.2022 Im a fan of Q-cells. They are an established brand that was German for a long time (2001), then in 2012 they were acquired by Hanwha, a large Korean company. The engineering and R&D is still done in Germany, with manufacturing happening in China and Korea mainly (a bit in the US, and some in Turkey). The products are great, with 2 new models having a 25 year product warranty - up from the normal 12 years - which just shows their commitment to quality, and their own brand. Its not the only brand we offer, but its a great quality offering.

06.01.2022 amazing scope of this project...

03.01.2022 Solar is still open for business and operating in business as usual capacity... whatever usual is. Our supply chains are open, and we are allowed to install. For a while, it looked interesting because solar was in danger of being taken off the essential services list. So, if there had been a more stringent set of lockdown, then maybe our freedoms would be limited. ... But that hasnt happened, and we are up and running. Were finding that a lot of people are even more keen on solar than before. This is partly because they are working from home, so using even more power than before, and also using using it during daylight hours... so solar makes sense. Its also because people want to get their bills under control. Solar gives you a higher level of certainty over your costs, so theres less bill shock every quarter. Drop me a note if you want to see what solar can do for you.

03.01.2022 If you are looking at solar but have been bombarded by conflicting information, or simply don't trust what you have been told, then we can help. You'll get great advice and quality systems at good prices, plus we guarantee the system performance with active monitoring and regular reporting to you. Our goal is for you to make an informed choice, and get a system that will generate the savings it's meant to.... See our website at http://iqsolar.com.au/ to have a conversation about what is the right system for you.

02.01.2022 The start of a commercial job today, lifting panels, inverters, mounting and bricks. Exciting stuff! It went off without a hitch... so happy with the team onsite.

01.01.2022 David wanted a soiar system that would really take a big chunk out of his powerbills. What we installed was a 10kW system. Because he is right on the water, we had to choose a panel which still retained its warranty, despite being in the marine environment. His system is performing well, and as we enter spring, we are seeing many days where he is able to generate 40kWh or more each day... all trackable on an app. If you're wondering what solar can do for you, let me show yo...u. 01.01.2022 How much can you reduce your power bill? If youre using all the power the solar produces, you can eliminate up to $100 per kW installed (more in summer, less in winter). This video explains the impact of export, and why bigger systems are typically better.
