22.01.2022 So happy to welcome Alexander McKinnon (pictured here with partner in life and dance, Lauren Murray). Overjoyed to have a high-calibre male ballet dancer, (who happens to be homegrown), as a collaborating dancer! Alexander McKinnon was born and raised in Perth Western Australia. He began dancing at the age of ten, alongside swimming and football. He fondly remembers being attracted to dance because of the freedom of movement and expression it provided. His talent saw hi...m travel to Melbourne at fourteen years of age to attend the Australian Ballet School. He graduated in 2010 with an Advanced Diploma of Dance and performed in both productions by the Dancers Company and the Australian Ballet. He worked in the Australian Ballet Educational Ensemble from 2011 - 2012. He then decided to audition abroad and began his European career with Ballet am Rhein Dsseldorf Duisburg under the direction of Martin Schlapfer from 2012 - 2014. He then joined Staatsoper Hannover as a Soloist, performing numerous leading roles. Alexander then decided to further his career by returning to Perth to study Arts Management at WAAPA with the intention to grow cultural and the arts in his hometown. See more
