18.01.2022 Make sure you check out Daddy and my new book at www.whoareyou.store You can buy it now on line for a special price.... REMEMBER - all proceeds go to AlzheimersWA to help in my fight against dementia. Check out the reviews, they are really nice. Foreword to Who Are You by Rhonda Parker No one is more knowledgeable about the experience of living with dementia than a person who has dedicated their life to caring for someone with it. Ken Eaton spent five years of his life dedicated entirely to caring for his wife after her diagnosis with early-onset dementia. In those five years he saw the life of the woman he married change. Her memory of him, their marriage, their children all began to blur, but his love for her never faltered. Grief is an unwelcome but important part of life and loss. If there is one thing we can learn from the poems of Ken, it is that in some cases, grief can inspire some truly amazing things. Ken took his experience of heartbreak, together with his faithful dog Chloe, and embarked on a motorbike journey around Australia just like he and his wife dreamed of when they were young. Over the years, he evaluated, reflected and transcribed his reflections into this small, heartfelt book. Kens reflections helped in his own recovery from grief and loss, and to make sense of his time living with dementia. In publishing this book, he hopes to help others caring for those with dementia; to remind them that no matter the pain they endure, they will survive, and their lives will go on. Rhonda Parker Chief Executive Officer Alzheimers WA

11.01.2022 Around Australia Riders, Ken and Chloe Eaton are looking forward to their very first National Black Dog Ride experience. Heres what Ken had to say: My motorbik...e travels started after losing my wife, and Chloes mum, to younger onset dementia twelve years ago after a downward spiral that lasted six years. A time that started with the positive outlook that I can handle this to the despair of placing a person you love into a hospital to prepare for a life in a nursing home, and seeing that persons life fade away within three months. My support during that time was a wonderful friend that had lost her husband, and my good friend, to suicide a few years earlier and to be able to talk and share our dark moments together as we managed to get through those lonely periods. Why my friend Alan could not share his darkness remains a mystery to us. After my wife Sue passed away, my daughters gave me an option of either buying a motorbike, a lifelong passion of mine, or getting a girlfriend, I brought a motorbike. I would miss Sues little companion dog, Chloe, each time I would ride so quickly developed a little travel pod for her and we have travelled the roads together ever since. Motorbike riding is a wonderful place to reflect, and along with involvement with the fantastic group of the Ulysses Motorbike Club, I have happily survived a dark period of my life. My reflections led me to establish a small charity called I Ride With Chloe To Fight Dementia to raise awareness to the battle carers go through as their love ones forget the things and those around them. Over the years on the bike, Chloe and I have hosted a travel blog, (iridewithchloe.com) and written and published a small book called Who Are You reflections of a dementia survivor, hopefully to show and give hope that there is life after despair. Friends of mine recently lost their son, Leon, to depression and I see the daily pain in their faces so Chloe and I are dedicating this ride to our old friend Alan and our friends son, Leon. I am excited to hopefully be able to share to others my experiences as suffer and survivor of one of the many forms that depression can take, and help this great charity, the Black Dog Ride, so please come and Ride With Chloe To Fight The Black Dog.

09.01.2022 One year ago we published our little book of poetry Who Are You. We would like to thank all the lovely people who purchased a copy and those who have left such lovely reviews. The purpose of our book was to hopefully show that there is life after despair and perhaps in some way give support to the wonderful carers of this world. A FREE PDF version of the book can be downloaded here for reading. We would love you to share it with your friends and especially any carer that you may know. All our best thoughts and wishes, Chloe and Ken
