16.01.2022 What happens when you don't cherry pick your workouts? You become a balanced, well rounded athlete. Look past the work that strokes your ego and shows up in the mirror. Be willing to grind, the results will speak for themselves.

16.01.2022 This Australian Hero Wod is dedicated to Ian ‘Turns’ Turner, of the Australian Special Forces, who sadly took his own life on July 15, 2017 after losing his fight with depression. Ian was a highly respected operator with the 2nd Commando Regiment and devoted to every aspect of life as a soldier. His capacity to apply himself and achieve a high standard in anything he set his mind to was inspiring to say the least. The opposing side to his driven personality was, in his own w...ords, an untamed beast that would lead him into destruction and depression. This was his greatest battle and one that saw him end his own life in 2017. The movements in Ian’s WOD were chosen by his children, one of their favourite memories with their Dad was going to his work gym and trying to follow him through his gruelling workouts. The 15+21 reps each round equal 36 for the 36 glorious years he lived.
15.01.2022 Goal: Heavy but unbroken and safe form Set yourself up to allow for at least 12 lunges or push up + taps each minute. This means you'll want to complete the deadlifts in about 30 seconds. Go heavy but unbroken! You may perform forward stepping, reverse stepping, or even walking lunges. Make sure you take a long enough step forward with the front leg or backward with the rear leg so that your heel can be down on the front foot when the back knee GENTLY touches the ground. Stan...d all the way up between reps, bring feet in line with each other and alternate legs with each lunge. Each time you lunge = 1 rep. For the push up plus taps we want to see a rigid body position with shoulders above or beyond the wrists and hands just wider than shoulder width. Squeeze your butt, your thighs and your belly. No sagging hips or snaking.

14.01.2022 A visual representation of when things click Jon is only a handful of sessions into his time with us but going by his position here you’d think he’d been lifting for a lot longer. It’s so much easier to recreate a position when you can feel it, and we had one of those moments today where you could see the light go off ... You can get an engineer and a footballer into the right position with the right cues, even though they’re completely different for each of them. The right cue is the one YOU can relate to Personalised coaching in a class setting = better results, faster.

Burpees This Firefighter Hero WOD is dedicated to Lincoln Quappe, FDNY, Rescue 2, who was killed on September 11, 2001. It would not be accurate to say that Lincoln Quappé attended every one of his son’s baseball and soccer matches; his job as a firefighter with Rescue 2 in Brooklyn required him to work all hours. But he never missed a game, thanks to the Quappé Broadcasting Service, otherwise known as his wife, Jane. If I was at a game and Lincoln was working, I would call and give him the play by play, she said. And when Mr. Quappé, 38, was at home, in Sayville on Long Island, he was all kid- business a true sit-down-on-the-floor- play-G.I.-Joes-play-Barbies-build-Legos- 100-percent kind of dad, Ms. Quappé said. On weekends, taking care of the children, a son and daughter, often meant nature trips on the boat Mr. Quappé’s stepfather kept behind his house in Brookhaven and pointing out the herons and egrets and osprey nestled in the reeds or soaring overhead. Mr. Quappé, who, like his father, was also a volunteer firefighter in his town, showed the same devotion to his job as to his family. Being a firefighter defined him, Ms. Quappé said. It was his blood. It was his life. I’ve said to many people that if he had to die at such a young age, this is how he would have wanted to go. See more

01.01.2022 What’s one thing EVERY person in these photos has in common? Despite all having some form of injury..... They still turn up to the gym and do what they can (wh...ich is still a ton of work) Day in and day out, and they get fitter and stronger as a result They don’t use an injury as an excuse They don’t accept the bullshit their brain is trying to sell them as valid - because it’s not. They don’t look for an out, they look for a way Not only does movement heal you physically, it does even more for you mentally And if you think you can’t find a way, just ask. We’re always here to help
