22.01.2022 The Iscariot Media team are devastated to hear of the passing of dear Lavonne Bobongie at the age of 38. Her beautiful photography captured the to and fro of so much of our community here in Brisbane, as did her commitment to grassroots Indigenous, South Sea and Pacific music, arts, and culture. We send our heartfelt love to all her families, including her beautiful Creative Nations family. The business and creative communities here in South East Queensland are a little less... without her. She will be greatly missed.

07.01.2022 One of the many ways we give ongoing support to our project participants is by popping in to say within our @IndigenousBusinessesQldAlumni group on Facebook. We also run weekly mini-masterclasses, hosted by subject experts via zoom sessions over on One Business. If you are existing small business or, wanting to start your own business within a supportive, encouraging and fun peer setting check both out!

06.01.2022 Congratulations Paul Hey, the proposed development to the Paint Factory looks amazing. You have all worked so hard to create a vision that both supports the local arts community, and will be economically sustainable. What a destination it will be!

06.01.2022 In our regular digital for small business training, we touch on legal issues. I think we're now at a point where we might make this a standalone topic in our next delivery. Be careful what you post. https://www.abc.net.au//rose-bay-man-wins-defamat/12223592

06.01.2022 Children belong in classrooms and playgrounds, not in handcuffs, courtrooms or prison cells. Please sign the petition. #RaiseTheAge https://www.raisetheage.org.au/

06.01.2022 We're excited and honoured to have had the opportunity to deliver Open For Business for @advanceqld and Queensland Government. Supporting Indigenous business is a part of everything we do each day, and this has been a particularly challenging time for everyone. Thank you Advance Queensland for supporting Indigenous business. Happy 5th birthday AQ! Repost ... Supporting our #Indigenous #business sector to thrive creates opportunities for #Qld’s #innovation ecosystem. ... One way we’re doing this is with the new Indigenous Business is Open for Business service. Since launching, the service has already engaged 14 Indigenous suppliers and connected more than 200 businesses, in as little as 2 months. 06.01.2022 Apart from some ongoing social media management for clients, the IM office will close for the Easter break. Sending all our best to our community. Have a restful long weekend everyone.

05.01.2022 We're a little excited this month! We soft-launched the next stage in the evolution of one of our long-time passion projects - @BlackCoffeeAU. In 2014, @LeesaWatego our Managing Director, started an informal networking event; nothing like a cuppa and a yarn to bring together Indigenous business in South East Queensland. With this in mind she had a vision that these events could travel across Australia.... A year later, Thomas Holden and Keith Williams from Townsville joined, coining the event Black Coffee, the next phase of the journey began and today, we see Leesa's vision realised... More Black Coffee's within our communities are popping up month to month, nation wide! For Iscariot Media, [ironically, a majority crew of tea drinkers! don't hold that against us] The supportive place these events provide for Indigenous businesses of all types and sizes to network and connect, will always be one of our favourite ways we continually contribute to the growing Indigenous sector in Australia. A cup and a yarn, doesn't get much better that that! If you want to find your local Black Coffee event head over to the newly launched Black Coffee website. https://qoo.ly/3as9gf (link in bio) Last Thursday of every month Be sure to add Black Coffee Networking into your diaries!

05.01.2022 We will be unlocking some money mindsets together with Tracey Sellers from Ironbark Industries Bookkeeping next Tuesday for the #onebusiness program. Tag or share to encourage others to register and come along!

04.01.2022 Every social media platform changes and evolves. We've seen one of our favourite platforms - Twitter, changed considerably since signing up over a decade ago. We remember when it was only 156 characters and when images were not visible! So what is rolling out now and possibly coming in the future that has us excited and a little apprehensive? Autoplay of videos for YouTube within posts... They are also considering adding emoji reactions such as [love] [sad] [like/agree] [dislike/disagree] [awesome] [angry] etc. Do you think adding emoji's to twitter is useful? Will video auto plays be useful for your Twitter feed? We would love to hear your thoughts.

04.01.2022 The Launch of National Reconciliation Week Queensland in 2020, live-streamed.

02.01.2022 A quick Zoolfie* of your team seems to be obligatory these days. It's not easy getting them together when we're scattered across the state, but we're giving it a crack. Great to catch up with some of the team this morning for a quick hump-day check-in - finalising old projects, prepping for new ones, including Indigenous Business Month which starts tomorrow! Onward and upward my deadlies! #IndigenousBusiness #IndigBizMonth *yes, I'm still trying to make Zoolfie happen
