18.01.2022 Schedule Update for Juma Prayer at Rockhampton Mosque Assalam o Alaikum. I hope & pray you are doing very well In Sha Allah.... Following recent easing of some Covid-19 related restrictions by the Queensland Government, we are making changes to the Juma prayer schedule for Rockhampton Mosque. In Sha Allah, effective from this Friday 10 July 2020, the new schedule for Arabic Khutba and Juma Prayer will be as follows. 1st Session: 1:15 PM 2nd Session: 1:45 PM With appropriate distancing, we estimated to have up to 40 people inside the masjid for a prayer so if you come for 1st session and there is no more space left inside the masjid then please wait outside for the 2nd session. Other arrangements and Covid-19 precautionary measures for all congregational prayers remain the same as outlined in our previous emails on this subject including: Perform wudu/ablution at your location (e.g. home, office) and avoid performing it at the mosque unless it is needed Bring your own prayer mat for prayer (tip: keep an extra prayer mat in your car if you drive to masjid). If you forget to bring your prayer mat, please use paper provided in the masjid. Use hand sanitizers upon entering and exiting the mosque (provided in the mosque) Keep a minimum 1.5m social distance at all times including during the congregational prayers. Stand on the tape marks on the carpet while praying. Limit physical contact with others in the mosque including shaking hands and hugs. Enter your details in the Sign-in register available in the masjid. Elderly people and those with any illness, chronic conditions or symptoms are recommended not to attend the mosques until further notice Please take above precautionary actions and any additional actions you find suitable for your own safety & welfare. We thank you for your understanding, patience & cooperation. As always, please let us know if you have any questions/concerns and/or believe there are improvement opportunities for us. Jazak Allah! Kind regards.

13.01.2022 SECRETARY ISCQ Attachments11:49 AM (6 minutes ago) to Iscq, fm_iscq, riec_iscq Assalamum Alaikum,... May allah keep us all safe. The greater Brisbane area is under lockdown for 3 days in response to a detection of highly infectious UK COVID-19 strain. While it is a precautionary step, it is important that we do our homework accordingly in Rockhampton. During this holiday, many of us visited Brisbane and other areas which have COVID cases. Please, do not come to the masjid if you have any mild symptoms of COVID (flu, fever etc.). Many places including worship areas in Greater Brisbane will be closed (please find below email). We have prepared a regular eventbrite link for Jumma prayer, please fill up that form for Jumma prayer. If you forgot to do the eventride form for Jumma prayer, scan the QR code provided at the masjid to register your visit. The QR code must be scanned to register your visits (all prayers including Jumma if eventbrite is not filled up) to the masjid. Please let us know if you have any difficulty in doing the scanning. Please note, we have a capacity of 50 males and 10 females following COVID restrictions. So, please do not enter the masjid if you see the capacity is filled up. We will try to organise a volunteer to maintain the capacity at the masjid entrance for jumma prayer in sha allah. When we reach the capacity at the masjid, can we request all to patiently wait (at your car) for the second Jumma jamat (1:40pm). Please avoid standing at the gate as it is not possible to maintain social distancing at the entrance and it may negatively represent our action to other people in the community. May Allah reward us for the sacrifices. The Prophet () said, "If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place." 05.01.2022 Alhamdulillah, ISCQ's Infrastructure Safety Project secures funding from the Aus Government

04.01.2022 Assalam o Alaikum & good afternoon, In Sha Allah you are doing well. You may be aware, the Queensland Government have relaxed certain restrictions related to Covid-19 (including number of people who can gather at places of worship) effective from 12 noon today. Alhamdu lillah! We, as the ISCQ Executive Committee, are preparing for reopening our Rockhampton mosque for daily prayers as soon as practicable. However, there are certain measures that need to be taken before we can... safely reopen. This includes but not limited to cleaning/disinfecting the building, layout & carpet marking for social distancing, action planning for facilitating multiple sessions for large congregational prayers i.e. Juma prayer. Rest assured, we are working proactively on these tasks! We are also in touch with the Islamic Society of Queensland (ICQ) who are consulting Queensland Health and the Department of Education to fully understand any specific conditions we need to be aware of. We are also in touch with CQ Public Health for a localized advice. At ISCQ, we want to ensure that we continue to comply with all government/regulatory requirements and conditions as well as identify & implement all reasonable precautionary measures to safeguard safety, health & well-being of our community. We'll share with you the confirmed schedule for mosque reopening soon. Thank you for your understanding, patience and cooperation.
