25.01.2022 Let us take this opportunity to thank all of our amazing primary students who participated in our RUOK Day activities and competitions this year! RUOK Day is a national event that recognises mental health. Here are the winners of our RUOK Day Art Competition where we asked our primary students to create, draw or paint a personal experience showing a time that they helped someone else.

24.01.2022 The ICOM Annual Quran Competition is an educational competition which aims to enhance our children's connection with the Holy Quran. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said 'Allah has His own people among mankind.' The companions said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who are they?' He said: 'The people of the Qur'an, the people of Allah and those who are closest to Him.' SubhanAllah, what a great honour to achieve. Despite the pandemic restrictions, the Islamic C...ollege of Melbourne continued with running the annual Quran competition online and Alhamdullilah it was a great success. The majority of our students realize the importance of the Holy Quran and participated in this prestigious competition. The College is very proud to announce that alhamdullilah, we had 115 students who ranked in the top positions across primary and secondary schools. With the book of Allah SWT, we are all winners, regardless of winning the competition or not. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our dear parents for their support and thank our dear Quran teachers for their hard work and dedication.

23.01.2022 Dear respected Parents of ICOM, Assalamu Alaikum, The Well-being Department at the Islamic College Of Melbourne would like to kindly deliver the following message.... As we all are aware, social media is a platform that can be both beneficial and harmful for young minds. While we discourage allowing our students and children from using social media platforms or minimising the exposure to it, the fact is many are still using social media. As a parent, it is vital to monitor what your child is being exposed to, especially during this pandemic where we are flooded with negative news from many directions. Platforms such as Tiktok, Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram, no matter how much they try to filter their content and because of the uncensored nature of these apps; will continue to allow for many inappropriate videos to get circulated around until they are finally reported by other users and removed. This puts your child at risk of being exposed to content that can be aggressive, violent, upsetting, offensive, indecent, and bullying in its nature. Videos appear seemingly innocent at the beginning may contain inappropriate and distressing content. Therefore we urge you to be vigilant with what your child is being exposed to. Such inappropriate content can cause lifetime mental health repercussions, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD), anxiety disorders and negative effects on character. Furthermore, we also urge you to monitor the kind of personal information your child is sharing on their social media such as their full name, address, date of birth and school. This information is both sensitive and private. It will also be highly effective if you have regular discussions with your child on cyber safety, to educate their young minds on how to safely navigate their life online if they are on any of these social media platforms. For further tips and help on the matter, or, if you wish to report any matter that relates to this, please contact the college and ask to speak to the counsellor or any member of the Well-being team. Thank You.
