24.01.2022 Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah), Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel and Victims of Terrorism, and our Independence Day are marked in close proximity each year. The transition from grief to joy symbolises the Israeli story. The story of Barak Ganot is our story. Here is a video of him speaking at the Christians United For Israel summit in Washington D.C. two years ago. ... As we celebrate our 72nd Independence Day next week, we wish our dear friends in the Pacific health, strength, and perservance. We hope to see you in Israel when the outbreak is over.
23.01.2022 I am both sad and excited to share with you that I will be leaving my position as the Pacific Islands Advisor in a few weeks and returning with my husband to Israel at the end of our posting here. I want to thank all our Pacific friends for your support, partnership, and deep friendship that manifested through so many beautiful gestures, such as rallies, support on social media, and advocacy. We in the Foreign Ministry have been so impressed to see the overwhelming love for ...Israel in your nations. The world today is defined by the COVID-19 virus and we are all one big community that has to deal with many challenges. We will unite together to get through this crisis. The People of Israel have gone through many hardships and great tragedies throughout their history, but the connection to the Land of Israel is the hope and inspiration for what we are today - the pursuit of excellence as well as strength and peace within and with our neighbors. Today's Israel is full of life, culture and achievement. I am very proud to finish my posting here by letting you know about a food security project in Beqa Lagoon Island, Fiji, that I initiated with Pacific Blue and Pacific Grow, with the support of the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sherman Centre for Culture and Ideas - SCCI. The aim of the project is to help two villages that were badly damaged by the recent Cyclone Harold to cultivate their land and grow their own vegetables, with the help of Israeli technology. We want this project, which involves young men and women from the villages, to be a successful example of sustainability that might be replicated in other Pacific Islands. I do hope that the world will overcome the current challenges and I very much look forward to seeing you all again in Jerusalem soon. 22.01.2022 Israel's humble gifts of personal protective equipment (PPE) arrived in Palau and Papua New Guinea last week. We wish them the best of health and we hope they don't need it to fight the coronavirus. We are planning a food security initiative to help the Beqa Lagoon Island of Fiji, that was badly impacted by the recent Cyclone Harold. The project will be a collaboration between the Embassy of Israel, Pacific Blue, and Grow Pacific, and has been funded by the Sherman Foundation. We hope more partners will join us on this project !
21.01.2022 Arava Fijian and Ni-Vanuatu students finish a successful year of agricultural studies, and we all anticipate their good future ! This week, the students from Fiji and Vanuatu at the "Arava International Centre for Agriculture Training" presented their research projects to the College teachers and their friends. The event was very exciting and the colourful Pacific Islands dress added to the celebrations. They should be proud of their achievements and we all wish that they will be able to implement their knowledge successfully in their future endeavours when they return home.

04.01.2022 Jerusalem Day - the capital of Israel under the shadow of the coronavirus We are celebrating 53 years of unity between East and West Jerusalem, the historic capital of the Jewish people, returned to her after 2,000 years. 700 participants will form a human chain around the walls of the old city while maintaining the COVID-19 social distancing rules.
