25.01.2022 General Notice. Lots of people are noticing attacks fom the Facebook breach that happened in 2019 hackers with nothing better to do are trying to access anything else it might match up with so go through and secure everything. Although this is an old attack with the news stories being shown and the file showing up on lots of places that are not on The dark web more people are getting their hands on it. IWS uses secure passwords, 256bit encryption and 2FA on all data. ... I stress there are NO BREACHES known ON ANY WORK IWS has done. If you use a same password and email for any of your accounts that are the same to Facebook I suggest you change them ASAP. You should be changing passwords every 1 to 6 months on all sites and devices. Good password hygiene is important across your online footprint so that if one data breach happens that no other accounts can be accessed. A good way to do things is have one email for social media one for personal and one for business and important/confidential emails. Then never use the same password in the same spot and don’t make those email addresses the same - There is no point in having one email address that is the same thing but one is @gmail and one is @outlook, mix it up! Always Use 2FA where available and to make things easy you can have a password program manage to store your passwords for you. Although they can’t be remembered this means that they are unique. Make sure your master account has 2FA on it and is written down somewhere not in a digital format and uses it’s own email account login and that’s it. In recent times people who have a iCloud keychain and use a windows computer have been unable to go between, recently Google Chrome manager has allowed you to use passwords from your keychain and chrome password account manager to work together to access items on windows devices and vice versa. Data breaches happen and are inevitable. Let’s face it - if a group want to attack you or your site they will get it - it depends if you make the time and effort of the attack worth while for them to invest their time...recent examples are this Facebook breach 2019, Australia Government for MyGov and ATO and even as recent as Channel 9 last week. The amount of effort that went into those attacks for the amount of reward (data) is massive, most average sites just need to keep hobby hackers out and make the amount of effort more than the reward for the effort. 24.01.2022 Hope everyone has had a great Easter weekend, like mentioned on the previous post I was available for clients over the weekend as your website is never closed!!! Unfortunately I was needed for an OpenCart website that is now looked after by IT Website Solutions(IWS) - Please note it was not built by IWS!! Like a lot of other companies a competitor failed to be around when necessary in the past which resulted in the client coming to IWS in the last year for service to be ava...ilable when its needed. I imagine if this had happened when the site was still under the competitor it would have taken days to get up again at minimum with massive loss in income for the client. Saturday was spent fixing the site from the moment I was informed about it until it was working as normal again. As a business IWS needs you to be making money and have a working site and this is fundamental in the way we operate. A very happy client with a working website still made sales (over $1k) later on Saturday with the majority of the work covered under the monthly hosting plan which value showed its worth. Note that if IWS builds the site and hosts it, in this case work would be included and would not have counted as extra hours! Sometimes websites just break for no good reason or there are gremlins in the base preprogrammed code which is why hosting plans with included hours are recommended for all clients of IWS. This is also why particular base platforms are recommend for different sites than others. Hypothetical - If you have a website and it went down over a the long weekend due to an attack or error would your website designer/admin manager not stopped till it was fixed or would they have said please contact us during business hours and we will try to resolve your problem. 11.01.2022 A bit of Friday humour, but an insight for those who havent spoken to me too much. Although I work hard for my clients with computers and can be all hour of the day or night, and have my phone on me all the time. On my days I scheduled myself off I dont spend time on my phone or computer (yes Im on call for clients who need it) but I actually get out and ride my motorcycle, see mates/family and enjoy conversation in person, sometimes even over a beer!! From someone who works in tech trust me, take time away from your phone and laptop for a couple of hours over the weekend and have a chat in person to those around you or go see them rather than just msg them, it will do you the world of good!! Emails - a malicious or phishing email can look like it has come from a business you are familiar with - however, when it urges you to act now, because your account has been locked, your order cannot be delivered, or that requires you to log in, you should look to see if it is legitimate. Try t...o verify it by contacting the company directly. 2. Phone calls - similar to emails, a phone call can sound any business you are familiar with - when they ask for you to transfer them money or provide your account details, take a moment to verify they are who they are. You can call them back using information on the companys official website. 3. Passwords dont use the same password for everything in case an organisation is subject to a data breach or you accidentally provide your details to a scammer. Use a strong password - the best password is a sentence at least 12 characters long. 4. Updates - keep all your software, operating systems, browsers and other apps up to date to best defend against viruses, malware and other cyber threats. Updates are developed for a reason.

09.01.2022 Although robots get offended IT Website Solutions users Google RECAPTCHA on all websites to avoid you getting spam emails and make sure only get genuine form submissions. It can also be run in the background so the front end user never sees it and has to tick a box. Some simple programs have a limited number of questions and answers which can let spam through, also IWS can do 2FA on sites so you and your customers accounts are safe, why settle for anything less, you can’t put a price on security.

08.01.2022 Well what a crazy first half to the year!! Yes 2020 is a horrible year for all but the team here remain positive. If you need to get your business online or dont want to pay massive commissions regardless how much you sell please get in contact, Ive noticed the hospitality industry especially is being exploited not to mention retail too during this difficult time. A website of your own is always going to be cheaper in the long run (and you have control over it) rather than ...signing up to mass production ordering platforms which take cut of each order and then hold you to ransom once signed up. With several works in the pipeline and still being of great service to existing clients, things are going great!! If its quiet here on Facebook it normally means things are busy. I will have a new style of design website up at the end of the month/ start of August for James Brindley (the IWS copywriter) who is focusing his efforts on gaining more copywriting work on a humanitarian front where his passions lay in Europe, while still being able to write content for new websites for IWS. The domain name itwebsite.com.au was also purchased recently and will be a sister business to IWS offering cheap and reliable independent hosting services and domain name purchases all to manage yourself and have full control over - for the mean time it forwards to the main IT Website Solutions site.
