19.01.2022 We are back to the land of wifi. Day eight saw us travel to the hills of northern Thailand. We enjoyed a day of performances and gained an understanding of the Hill tribe people with a theatre group called Makhampom. We visited a tribe who have struggled great hardship and fight to this day to be recognised in Thailand. We were shown that even through their poverty their is much joy and laughter. The village children performed a circus show for us and we enjoyed playing games with these gorgeous children. We feel very fortunate to have had this magical experience.

16.01.2022 Please stay tuned. The annual Ivanhoe Grammar School Thailand trip is just around the corner...

16.01.2022 Arrived safely at Bangkok airport.

15.01.2022 Muay Thai in slow mo!

15.01.2022 Thank you to the Traidhos Bangkok team for a fun start to our Thailand Trip.

14.01.2022 What a first day! Ferry rides, rice breakfasts, island hopping, river observations, snakes, pottery classes, market shopping and cooking lessons. We are tired, very hot and jet lagged but super excited about day 2...watch this space!

12.01.2022 We are off... see you in the morning Bangkok

11.01.2022 Day 3 was a nice relaxing one as we made our way to Chiang Mai. We played lots of team building games, learned about river life, had a wonderful restaurant lunch and flew to Chiang Mai. We arrived safely at our next accommodation late but we cant wait to explore.

10.01.2022 Thai lunch in preparation of our big trip. Delicious

10.01.2022 Day five was elephant day! We were all disappointed that the washing of these gentle giants had ceased but we understood why. We fed them, pet them and took many elphies. We learned of the sanctuaries history and what these amazing people are doing to help the mistreated Asian elephants and animals in Thailand. Many of us loved the cat sanctuary too. After our return we explored the art of Muay Thai boxing and even slipped in a quick swim. It was an unforgettable day.

09.01.2022 Day two was very humbling. We visited monks, shopped for our dinner, felt like superstars, got our art on and visited ruined temples from the 16th century. We cant wait for day three...

06.01.2022 Day nine was service project day. We headed to another remote Hill tribe village to help out the local kinder. Todays job was to render a wall, some concreting and a general tidy up. It was hard work, very humid and exhausting but when you looked at the little faces it was worth it. The children get limited funding from the government and the kinder needs people like us helping out. With cuddles as our reward we were more than happy to do our bit. We donated new sleeping blankets and a speaker system which we hope they get lots out of. What a humbling experience!

05.01.2022 Day 6 was a good one. Started off the day cooking a traditional Thai lunch of spring rolls, red chicken curry and sweet and sour pork. After heavy rain we enjoyed a muddy bike ride through rice fields and farms, the views were spectacular. We finished off our day learning about The Hilltribe people and we are looking forward to meeting the children on our service project this Friday. Heres to another busy, fun and memorable Thailand day.

04.01.2022 Day four was jam packed with fun! We are in love with our home for the next few days. We conquered the ropes and wall, we played dress ups and danced, we beautifully decorated umbrellas and we shopped and ate our way through the night market. Phew! Tomorrow is day...

02.01.2022 Day seven saw the students start the day with a city challenge. We travelled around the city looking for photo opportunities and finding answers. It lead us to interesting places, including talking time with a monk! We spent the afternoon at the mall, visited a 3D art museum and finished off with more eating and shopping at the night bazaar market. Phew. We are excited to get to the Hill Tribes tomorrow.
