05.01.2022 Benefits of easel drawing - Shoulder and elbow stability A larger surface area requires more reaching and movement therefore the shoulder and whole arm moves while drawing. - Wrist extension The vertical surface encourages the proper wrist position (slight extension) for grasp and writing development. - Core Strength and Posture Theres no slumping or leaning on the back of the chair. A child must engage the core and back muscles to maintain an upright posture whether that is through kneeling or standing at the easel. #easeldrawing #motorskillsdevelopment #playbasedlearning
