15.01.2022 Thank you so much to Matt, Adrian, Damo & all the girls at Byrne's Pie Factory. My mornings will be very different without seeing you all. I have visited Byrnes Pie Factory every weekday morning for almost 40 years now. My 4 kids used to take turns getting up early and coming to the factory to help me get the pies. The kids would always be treated with a coffee roll, so perhaps it was worth the early wake up! Those days don’t seem that long ago. I am overwhelmed with... the response to my retirement and appreciate all of the well wishes and support from everyone in the Mackay community. It really is so unexpected and I am humbled by the response. Thank you Tomorrow, Saturday, I will be on Gregory St from 10:30am to see you all one last time. #buymackay

01.01.2022 As of close of business Saturday 4th July, I will be officially retired as your local Pie Man after 39.5 years! Jacko’s Tucka Truck has been sold and will change hands this weekend. Saturday morning will be my last hurrah as Jacko the Pie Man. Please come visit me one last time from 10:30am on Gregory St for smoko this Saturday. (Or today, Thursday from 11:30am) The family & I had one last picture all together with the truck to document this major milestone in my life. ... (Missing Ella Jackson & Matt Howie) Don’t worry, I will be busy in my retirement.
