25.01.2022 I am excited to announce that Kettlebell Athletica studio is officially open, and I am now able to book in your personal training session and/or book you into one of my small group training classes for fitness and/or sport. Kettlebell Class Times: Monday & Wednesday 6 PM Starting on the 6th of July. Saturday 11:00 am Note classes limited to 6 people. Register to secure your spot. I am currently offering 20 x foundation personal training 10 packs @ $55 per 45 minute session,... and in addition 10 x small group training packs available @ $15 per session. Getting Started An introduction to Kettlebell Athletica and the basic elements of traditional Kettlebell movement patterns. All participants interested in participating in our small group Kettlebell classes must first complete our Kettlebell Athletica Introductory Session. In this session you will focus on proper alignment, posture, and the connection between the mind, movement, muscle and breath. 22.01.2022 Loaded Conditioning Workout: Walking with kettlebell/s in different positions without putting the kettlebells down is one of my favorite ways to develop a strong core, total body strength endurance, strong grip, mental toughness, and functional real world strength plus more. Variables include kettlebell weight, time under tension, unilateral, bilateral work with kettlebells and/or different implements. You can also perform kettlebell fitness, kettlebell sport, Kettlebell co...mbinations and/or kettlebell juggling between each walk carry. For example this type of functional real world training makes my life easier as a mum carrying my son and shopping bags plus many more real-world activities. Note: Rest as needed between each exercise. 1 Minute Farmers Walk with two Kettlebells. 1 Minute walking with kettlebells in the Rack position. 1 Minute walking with kettlebells Overhead 1 Minute farmers hold and rack walk followed by I minute on the other side. 1 Minute Rack and Overhead Hold Walk followed by 1 minute on the opposite side. 1 Minute Walk holding Right Kettlebell Overhead and Left arm kettlebell farmers hold. Repeat on the opposite side for a minute. Instructional video coming soon!

20.01.2022 Windmill Muscles - shoulder, obliques, lower back, hips. Description... The Windmill focuses on the mind, muscle and breathing connection. Â This is an unreal exercise to develop flexibility in your shoulders, abdominals and hips whilst overloading the shoulder and core musculature. Start position Clean the Kettlebell Turn your feet 30% away from the kettlebell and kick your hip out to the side. Press the kettlebell so that you are standing in the fully locked out overhead position. Keep your chest out, loaded arm straight, and your eyes on the kettlebell at all times. Move Keeping your eyes on the kettlebell, breath in and slowly bend at the hips and rotate your torso keeping most of the weight on the load bearing hip and heel of the foot under the loaded arm. Maintain a locked arm stabilising through the shoulder to keep the arm vertical. As you lower yourself your free arm slides down the inside of your bent leg, only as low as flexibility will allow and you can build up to touching the ground and/or pickup a second kettlebell and hold with your arm extended in the bottom position while performing the windmill. To return to the top, squeeze the glutes and abdominals as you exhale, bringing your hips forward until you are back to your starting position. Hints and tips - Perform the windmill with control. Squeeze the handle and keep your shoulder tight, contracting your lat to stabilise. Push the loaded hip past your heel. Hips on rails back and forward. Don't load the bent leg, emphasise the hips and hamstring stretch. Keep your eyes on the kettlebell at all times help with balance. Video link: https://youtu.be/zrXIS3xPGGI

Due ...to the current situation with Covid 19 lockdowns and no interstate travel within Australia we are excited to officially announce that we are now organising virtual competitions for the following two competitions: 2020 8th KBA Melbourne Open / World Grand Prix, and 2020 4th IGSF Australia Cup. All athletes who registered will have the opportunity to either compete online this year, request a refund, or transfer for the 2021 Arnold Sports Festival Australia. 11.01.2022 1st place KIRBITOV power juggling Open Online Cup in Perm city in Russia of kettlebell juggling in the Amateur category! Also in March I competed in the first stage of the international online tournament of Kettlebell - Geary (KETTLEBELL) IN THE AIR 2020 and came first place in the veteran category, and in addition 2nd place in the Amateur category achieving 5,54 points. Currently I am the only Australian to have won in a Power Juggling competition. 04.01.2022 Gladiator Turkish Getup Bottoms-up (Lunge variation) Lie down on the floor in a supine position and roll to your side to pick up the kettlebell safely. Press the kettlebell bottoms-up perpendicular to the floor, keeping your shoulder down. Keep your elbow locked and wrist neutral... Tuck your leg on the weighted side close to your butt Extend your other hand out to the side to brace against the floor. Punch the kettlebell towards the ceiling by pushing away from the floor with your foot on the weighted side and coming up onto your forearm in a diagonal fashion and then onto your hand. Raise your hips keeping your leg straight. Turn your body into a side plank position, stack one leg on top of the other and slowly lift the top leg. Note: In this position you can also perform a side bottoms-up press. From this position bring your straight leg in front of the body and go into the lunge position. 02.01.2022 Kettlebell Swing (Hip hinge style) The kettlebell swing is a total body movement which combines strength and cardio in one exercise targeting what is called your posterior chain which includes the muscles of your back, abs, core, glutes and hamstrings all the way down to your calves. These muscles act as a kinetic chain for all extension type movement patterns found in exercises and sporting activities increasing your strength, power, timing, speed, coordination, balance an...d agility. You will get glutes (your butt) of steel, a strong core and lean toned thighs. STARTING POSITION Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your weight on your heels. Sit back with your hips and grab two kettlebells. Your shins should remain vertical, shoulders back and chest up. Keep your back neutral. MOVE Pick the kettlebell up and swing the kettlebell back between your legs. Swing the kettlebell forward, powerfully snap the hips, contract the glutes and quads. Let the kettlebell free-fall back down between your legs loading the hamstrings. HINTS AND TIPS Do not lift the kettlebell up with your arms. This is not a front deltoid raise. Your arms act like chains and the fingers act as hooks. Keep them relaxed, don’t muscle the bell up. When the kettlebell is swinging it should remain in line with your arm. Maintain intra-abdominal pressure to keep your back safe. The key to the swing is to also learn to cycle between relatively high tension and relaxation. Swing variations video coming soon.
