18.01.2022 We traveled to Winton last weekend for the ASBK season opener. Friday started with still working on brake issues & suspension set-up problems, as the day went on things were starting to look up. In the practice sessions I was mostly by myself on the track but was improving my times with each session. I was able to qualify in 18th, I was hoping to be further up the front but was happy with that. Race one I got a cracker start & moved up many spots in the first couple of corner...s. had a great race & finished 11th. Race 2 I moved up the field gradually & had some great racing to finish up 11th again. Just can't crack in to the top 10. Race 3 got another great start & was racing with a small pack of 4 riders that I was leading for most of the race & was able to hold them off until the 2nd last corner when I was passed by 2 bike which meant I finished 13th. I was one of the only Ninjas that didn't crash on the weekend, it was great to put the bike in the trailer unscratched. It was only the 2nd time I had been to Winton which is a tricky, bumpy track to learn & not suited to the Ninjas. Has a great weekend overall & was really pleased with how the weekend went I am currently sitting 10th on the points after round one which was my goal. There were several serious crashes over the weekend & hope that everyone recovers quickly. The new trailer went really well. I would like to thank the people who helped us thru out the weekend Greg & Lachlan Epis #83 on the tools & the words of support & advice. Looking forward to Wakefield next month.
