15.01.2022 "Rawnsleys Bowerbird" original acrylic on claybord.This extremely rare bowerbird has only been sighted a few times in the history of European settlement in Australia. Just recently sighted and fortunately photographed by Trevor Anderson in Queensland. Trevor contacted me about the find and kindly gave permission to use his images of the bird as reference for paintings. It is strongly believed to be a hybrid of the Satin and Regent Bowerbirds. Fascinating story.
