16.01.2022 I recently had the privilege to work alongside an organisation that was founded by a community group. It is not appropriate that I name them but I wanted to share the story around their very real inclusion in the workplace as it reminded me how easy it can be to include and care for our people. The group has at least 4 different religions represented, in the vicinity of 7 or 8 different nationalities throughout their employee group and their number of staff only totals roug...hly 70 people. In the short time I spent with them, they recognised different eating habits, observed respect for various approaches to funerals and worked alongside non English speaking people to deliver their products. The very real relationship that each staff member had with each other was open, respectful and honest. They took the time to know and understand who they worked with and this in turn has created a body of people who are engaged, loyal and confident at work. It is something not to be sneezed at and has definitely impacted the bottom line of this particular organisation in a good way. The lessons that stood out to me were centred around the importance placed on building positive relationships and understanding the people to gain the best outcome. See more
