16.01.2022 Did you know millennials would rather lose their sense of smell than their smartphone? Crazy, I know...but I totally relate! This was one of many insights I shared last week at my 'Video storytelling from your mobile' workshop with the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB). ... Now that we (humans) have an attention span of 8 seconds (!!), which is less than that of a goldfish (), video is the prime content format to share your story. Here are my top three rules for creating engaging videos that government should follow: Keep video short (less than 90 seconds on FB, 30 sec on Instagram). Keep videos authentic with in-the-moment storytelling that captures 'real' life and isn't heavily edited. Keep it fun with Instagram stories! Stories are a great way to humanise your government brand, keep your followers entertained and experiment with your video content (comments on stories are not public, hence a good idea for gov).
