24.01.2022 Dr Danny Silver has retired from general practice at the Lyttleton Street clinic in Castlemaine. Now he'll have even more time for playing violin, saxophone, clarinet, guitar and mandolin; performing in orchestras and ensembles; and building stringed instruments. Oh, and he also plays double bass at the Castlemaine Jazz Jam, first Sunday of each month in the groovy Maurocco Bar.

21.01.2022 Dear friends of Castlemaine Jazz Jam, We hope you are all keeping well and safe. After discussion with the Maurocco Bar proprietors it has been decided to suspend the jazz jam for the rest of 2020. Many jazz fans are in the high-risk group, and we feel it is best to wait until a second wave of Covid-19 has been ruled out. The aim is to start again in January 2021, but we'll keep you posted if things change.... Meanwhile, you can hear a wide range of artists and styles on Jazz Life, broadcasting on Main FM 94.9 in Castlemaine at 7pm Mondays, streaming from mainfm.net or as a podcast at mixcloud.com/jazzlifeonmainfm (84 one-hour shows to date). All the best, Gwynn James, John Hannah, Ken Turnbull See more

09.01.2022 This will be a terrific event for fans of swing era music. It's a community partnership and fundraiser for the historic house Buda, featuring marvellous talents, including Castlemaine's own Brennan Hamilton-Smith on clarinet.
