23.01.2022 If there was ever a year to care for your sight, it’s now. It's easy to take eyesight for granted until something goes wrong. The earlier we start looking after our eyes, the better our chance of maintaining good vision, for life. We’re here to help you do just that. Call us on 51472855 to book your eye exam with us.

A must coming into the height of summer to protect your little ones from UV damage. We are open until Midday on Christmas Eve, so drop in to see us before they fly out the door! @uglyfishsunglasses

15.01.2022 Happy New Year from the team at Maffra Vision Care. We are back open today from 9am!

13.01.2022 The eyes are just one of three major mucous membranes on the face that we like to call 'portals' for infectious diseases. When a virus, such as COVID-19 (the vi...rus responsible for the coronavirus pandemic), comes into contact with one of these portals it can enter the body. Once inside, the virus can infect, or 'hijack' your cells to cause disease. Since viruses can survive for hours (or days!) in infected droplets left behind from a cough or sneeze, you can come into indirect contact with a virus even when there are no signs that someone around you is sick. Read this article by Dr Abi Tenen to learn the top 6 eye hygiene practices that EVERYONE should be following to reduce the spread of viruses. Dr Tenen is a refractive, corneal and cataract surgeon with experience in PRK, LASIK, RLE, cross-linking, intracorneal rings and ICLs. She practises at our Blackburn South and Melbourne (St Kilda Rd) clinics.

07.01.2022 If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that life is too precious to miss out on what matters to us most. And what matters looks different for each of us. At Maffra Vision Care, we want to help you see what matters and we do that by customising every element of your eyewear to your individual needs.

06.01.2022 As the weather gets warmer, don't forget your sunglasses to protect your eyes from the UV. In Australia, we are exposed to some of the highest levels of UV in the world and our eyes are at risk of developing serious issues when left unprotected. Not wearing sunglasses is just as bad as heading out without a hat and sunscreen in the middle of summer. Don't have any sunnies? Come see us and we can help to find some protective and fashionable sunglasses for you! Head over to https://goodvisionforlife.com.au//why-wearing-sunglasses-/ to find out more about why it's important to be protecting your eyes from the sun.
