17.01.2022 Dear Members, Students and Community Due to the high response to our event for 2020 I am happy to confirm that we will be organising a cocktail evening/ law ball. Please be aware this event will be subject to covid restrictions that will be enforce at the time. Currently this means limited on the number of attendees (90 people max).... Please like and follow our Facebook page to keep up to date for ticket sales. This event is likely to sell out so it is advised to get tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. In light of the current COVID-19 situation and social distancing, please join us and Jacqui Owen from the College of Law for an ONLINE presentation about Practical Legal Training (PLT) via ZOOM on Thursday 10 September at 6pm. This information session will give you the lowdown on PLT at The College of Law - in particular, how the week one PLT workshops is being conducted via Zoon du...ring the COVID-19 crisis. Come find out more about College of Law's Practical Legal Training course, including: - When you can start - What it involves - Length of the course - Attendance modes - Work experience requirements - Upcoming Queensland dates including how the week one workshops will be conducted online in light of COVID-19 We will also have some handy hints on how to accelerate your PLT for students in the earlier years of their law degree. REMEMBER: You MUST complete a PLT course in order to be admitted as a lawyer in Queensland! Tickets go on sale Friday 2 October 2020. There are a limited amount of tickets available due to COVID restrictions so get your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Ticket prices include three course seated dinner and three hour drink package.... As an alternative, we would like to host a cocktail evening for Students and the Law Community. The purpose of this post is to inform students of the 2020 Law Ball not proceeding, but to also gather interest in an alternative event (within a venue's COVID-19 Restrictions).
