25.01.2022 I so love this. Having come from a wonderful funeral service this morning, if you could say that, I thought this was apt. Today I guided a family through one of their most difficult days saying goodbye to a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. What was so perfect was that the family really knew this older gentleman. When the grandson got up to speak about his Poppy it was heartfelt and touching. So often younger people do not want to get up and contribute on a day like this. The young man said he was hesitant to speak on behalf of the grandchildren to begin with. Then he realised this was such a privilege to talk about his poppy, a man who shaped him into the adult he is today.

23.01.2022 With so many venues having banned confetti and the like, this has prompted people to make their own leaf confetti. A lovely idea that returns to nature and to the great cycle of life. Another sustainable idea.

22.01.2022 Wonderful words about those who are grieving.

22.01.2022 Love all these wonderful wedding ideas.

20.01.2022 Some gorgeous photos just arrived. I have decided to share just a few as a sample of the day that evolved. I had been working with this beautiful couple for months. in August they had to change tack, alter their original wedding plans and consider a new way forward for their wedding plans. Kelly and Damien were married at their home here in the local area with their family and closest friends present. This took place just before the new restrictions of ten people at a gathering came into place. So they lucked it in!!! It was a beautiful sunny Sunday morning in their back yard, with a delightful brunch to follow. This wedding had all the elements and the feelings of love right from my first meeting with them. It was such a pleasure to marry them. I wish them blessings for a beautiful future together as husband and wife.

20.01.2022 This painting and what it stands for speaks volumes to me as a Funeral Celebrant. It is so moving.

19.01.2022 Hugging says it all. We hug when we see people to say hello and connect. We hug each other when we say goodbye. Hugging happens at weddings, funerals and namings as a universal sign that I am supporting you and I care about you no matter what. Time to get your hugging arms around someone who matters.

19.01.2022 I just love what this man is doing, he is investing time, energy into new beginnings. He is creating memories for the parents of newborns. What a gift!

18.01.2022 A simple yet meaningful set of vows to be used on the day of marriage.

18.01.2022 I love this floral arrangement. The colours are my favourite.

18.01.2022 A beautiful Naming Ceremony for brothers Andrew and Owen. Here from France with their Australian family, they chose to have a gathering by the ocean on the beach at Shorncliffe. A lovely naming ceremony with snippets translated into French for five year old Andrew's benefit. The sun shone and the ceremony closed with a bbq and plenty of cake to celebrate. Much love was showered on these boys. A very special day.

17.01.2022 An alternative poem for a funeral service.

16.01.2022 New year, new trends coming through. Especially geared for Australia.

15.01.2022 Today I had the privilege of being asked to conduct a farewell service for a friend, a very brave Woman, Marion. She battled cancer and died too young at 62 years. These last few years she fought the long fight. Marion had courage and the heart of a lion. We came dressed in bright colours as she wished. She wanted us to have some fun. That was a challenge with the sadness and stark reality of her missing. It was evident amongst the gathering that she was deeply missed. She loved the arts, literature and education with a special interest in empowering girls and women. The writings of A.A.Mine's Winnie the Pooh collection had been a tradition in her family. One that she passed on to her own daughters and now to her granddaughter. I honour Marion with a few words from the excerpt shared today at her farewell service.

15.01.2022 I have always loved Montville. For a long time I wondered how the work and recreation of the Chapel would all come together. Here is a quick clip that shows you the extraordinary work that has gone on inside. I would love to marry a couple in this chapel sometime up ahead.

15.01.2022 On a windy day on the bay this gorgeous couple were married. They had driven from Mt Isa to marry here in the local area so that their friends and family could all attend in a central place. The wedding venue was Shangri La Gardens, Wynnum West. We had the best time, laughed and cried and at the end of it all Jo and Bill were husband and wife. It was a hoot of a time!!!!

14.01.2022 What a beautiful piece to consider.

13.01.2022 Love the looks of these wedding bands. Less traditional. More gender neutral and modern. These are on trend.

13.01.2022 Handfasting is a really beautiful additional element to any marriage ceremony. Handfasting was a way of betrothing a couple before wedding rings became popular. Simply by the binding of cords around their wrists and speaking their vows to each other they sealed their union till death do us part.

12.01.2022 Thought I would share this approach to burials. We have a long way to go but many people are thinking ahead about when they die as well as how they wish to live.

09.01.2022 Michele and Tim married in early September. I just received a few more snaps of the wedding. They even managed to get some lovely photos in on the waterfront before they arrived at the venue to be married. This was another wedding where plans were altered and we had to move to Plan B due to the Covid19 Restrictions being enforced. Just the same it was a beautiful time with family although ceremony timing and venue were altered.

09.01.2022 Recently I have encountered more people wondering how we can make ceremonies more personal. The ecology of the planet and our remains should have more ultimate connection. More moves in this direction would be gratifying for all.

08.01.2022 As I approach the end of the year, I reflect on the theme of this year. I hold gratitude for the harvest and bounty of 2018. For me it has been a year filled with love, celebration, reconnection, joy and purpose for myself and also for others. I am blessed to create beautiful ceremonies for honouring love through weddings, welcoming new life through namings, renewal of vows and the farewell of folk through celebrations. I love doing all kinds of Ceremonies. I would be delighted if you might share my details or contact me for your own ceremonies whether simple or with special elements all personal and meaningful. I love creating the space for honouring people, and creating joyful and sacred celebrations.

08.01.2022 This is so true for people experiencing loss.

07.01.2022 A little snap of Robyn and Simon at their home. A midday wedding with 20 or so in attendance. Simon himself is undergoing some treatment at the moment getting married to his sweetheart and soulmate is made so much more precious. It was an emotional ceremony with the couple writing their own heartfelt vows. There was not a dry eye and many tissues were used in the mop up. Congratulations to the happy couple.

07.01.2022 I love these words. What a great idea, putting a poem or set of vows on a boardat your ceremony or later at the reception!!

07.01.2022 Handfasting is an ancient ritual used in weddings where the couple choose to do something a little different. Always the ritual is performed with coloured cords or patterned ribbons. A way to add something quite different to the format of the wedding ceremony.

06.01.2022 Watch this. As we step into this new era it is time to be more in charge of our lives including our final send off. Great little clip.

05.01.2022 There is something so true about this quote I just had to share it here. Sometimes the actual legal vows gives the couple a new, unspoken permission to begin this new adventure that they build together.

05.01.2022 Just bringing this into your attention. A tradition that is almost lost. Let's acknowledge it.

05.01.2022 I am hiding behind the lovely couple Michele and Tim.

05.01.2022 Wedding dresses are now showing more colour.

04.01.2022 A lovely reading. Very touching.

04.01.2022 This is amazing to me. Check it out.

03.01.2022 Love is love. Let's celebrate all love. As a celebrant that is what I do and what I love. Celebrate all the milestones of life. ... Beginnings and endings and everything in between.

03.01.2022 This is so absolutely true for those of us in long term, life long relationships.

03.01.2022 This afternoon I married a local couple at their home. About 30 guests attended. It was intimate, personal and so heartfelt. As I was leaving the bride said she had something for me. She reappeared with this floral arrangement as a gift. She was so happy she thanked me with flowers. I was surprised and delighted. What a kind gesture.

01.01.2022 Teresa and Russell were married in October eight years ago. Broadway Chapel was the venue of choice.

01.01.2022 Good reminder for those dealing with grief of a loved one.
