23.01.2022 ‘I suffered from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) and thoughts of suicide and am grateful for the experience.’ That may seem implausible and impossible to believe but it’s the truth Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) is not a disorder or a definition. It’s a diagnosis. It’s also something that can be prevented, managed and recovered from. That is my perception, my purpose and my passion...Continue reading
22.01.2022 It's hard to believe that 19 years ago, 30/7/2001, I jumped into the tray of a stolen ute in the Block at Redfern that nearly cost me my career and my life... I...t was the final straw on a string of seemingly never ending near misses in my career - and my last day as a policeman at Redfern... After this incident in which someone was deliberately trying to kill me and I smashed my hand and gun through the window and threatened to shoot the driver so he wouldn't kill me or someone else - I just wanted to walk away. I couldn't do it anymore... This was the event that led me to being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress (even though I had the signs and symptoms from earlier incidents - but didn't know what 'it' was)... So I did the unpolice and unbloke like thing - admitted I wasn't coping, reached out for help and got it. And can honestly say it saved my life... I could have easily just given up but that wasn't who I was then or who I am now... I didn't want this diagnosis to control me or define who I was or how I lived so I did whatever it took. And because of that I was able to return to work for another 10 years... Thanks to the skills I have learned through NLP I was able to process everything related to that incident (and every other one). I am now able to remember and speak about this incident (and every other event) without any negative emotion or consequence... I am even able to walk through where this incident happened without any negative triggers or associations... I am in control... I am also fully recovered, #PTSFree and am passionate about helping those in the Emergency Services and Military to reclaim their lives through better management and recovery from the condition... My inspiration to anyone struggling, especially with Post Traumatic Stress, Depression or thoughts of suicide is to know that you can process the traumas from your career (and your past) by making the decision to be in control and reaching out to someone that cares and can help... Someone like me that understands... I am a Master NLP Coach, Timeline Therapist (R) and Hypnotherapist so I not only have the experience of battling with and defeating PTS, I also have the skills, qualifications and results to help you on your journey too, right now!!! Reach out to me, and type NOW below, if you want to find out how and have a conversation, if you want to reclaim your life, take back your control and have my support...

16.01.2022 If you are struggling you need to listen to this, right now!!
15.01.2022 For anyone that is struggling out there at the moment - know this: You Are Not Alone - There are so many people out there that are going through what you are and that understand and care... Reaching Out For Help Is NOT A Sign of Weakness - but a demonstration of self love and courage to know that you deserve better... You Are Not Defined By Your Job, Relationship, Condition or Situation - But by who you DECIDE to be...... You Have The Power To Take Control - We have the power to take control choose how we think, feel and behave EVERY day by making conscious decisions to not let our unconscious patterns, the events from our past or beliefs about ourselves control us... Suicide Is NOT The Answer - It is a permanent solution to a temporary state of mind. It doesn't resolve your pain, just puts it onto someone else... Here are some things that you can do, RIGHT NOW!!! Change Your Focus - What you focus on you feel so focus on something, or do an activity, that makes you feel good, happy, excited, alive, grateful, loved etc... Change Your State - Get up and move around, exercise, dance, make a sudden action etc... Change The Meaning - It's not the event but the meaning you attach to it that has the greatest affect. Attach a more empowering meaning to things, events or people that are making you feel angry, sad, worried etc, or ask better questions - what else could this mean? what can I learn from this? how can i view this differently... Write It Down - If you think it than ink it. Writing things down allows you to clear the mind and process your thoughts to see if they are real or not... Reach Out - Make contact with someone that you can spend time with and/or talk to. You are not alone and people want to help. One conversation can make all the difference. I am here for you...
14.01.2022 You can decide who you want to be and how you feel... You are in control...
13.01.2022 I am a retired Senior Sergeant from the NSW Police Force and I served nearly 16 years before I was medically discharged with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS)... I re...member when I was first diagnosed. I had no idea what it was only that it was consuming me... I had only been in the Police for 5 years and was working in Redfern confronting serious crime head on and without fear... I could feel that I wasn't coping but didn't know what it was. One thing I knew for sure was that it wasn't something I could talk about or show that I was feeling. The culture wouldn't allow it and my career depended on it... It wasn't until I jumped into the tray of a stolen ute in July 2001 and was almost killed doing my job did I have the courage to know I couldn't ignore this 'sadness' anymore. As far as I was concerned my last day in the job was left in the back of the ute... But I did the unpolice like and unbloke thing and reached out for help. I put myself first. I didn't want to let this 'diagnosis' define me or defeat me so I took control... As a result I was able to return to work for another 10 years. But I didn't learn from my mistakes or from what I had learned so got involved in more 'shit' only to be diagnosed and medically discharged with PTS in 2011... Because I had always wanted to be and thought I would be a policeman I lost who I was, not knowing what my identity was now i didn't have a badge and uniform to protect me anymore... As a result I decided I didn't want to live anymore and had thoughts of taking my life, which thankfully I didn't follow through on... Instead I focussed on the possibility of recovering, of taking control like I had done 10 years before. And you know what it worked... I'm not different or more special than anyone else. I just made different decisions and distinctions that allowed me to fully recover... When I was diagnosed I never thought recovery was possible, until I made the conscious decision to take control that allowed me to develop the beliefs to make it happen... That is why I am so passionate about helping those in the emergency services and military that are struggling with what they have experienced in their career, whether they've been diagnosed with PTS or not... You have the power to take control. You are not defined by your condition but by how you chose to respond to it... Let me be the one that helps you begin your proactive road to changing the way you think, improving your quality of life and making recovery not only possible but achievable... Type YES below for a free call!!!
09.01.2022 Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) has affected me personally, professionally and financially because of what I experienced throughout my 16 year policing career... It has also cost me a lot - my career, my relationship, my kids and myself, as well as nearly my life... But most importantly it has given me strength, compassion, understanding, resilience and a better perspective in life so that I can help others who have gone, are going or will go through this battle... ... PTS does not define you and is not a sentence. It is a disorder and a condition that with the right education, awareness and support can be prevented, managed and even overcome... I know because I have recovered from Post Traumatic Stress... I don't say that to impress you but impress upon you that no matter how lost, overwhelmed and alone you feel right now there is hope... There are so many other police, emergency services, military and first responders - and their families- who understand and know what you are going through and who want to help... Remember that you are not alone... If you are struggling or know someone who is reach out for help - to me or anyone else - or let someone know... Who you are and the sacrifices you have made during your service really do matter... You are not a number. You are not a burden. You are family and a true hero... Never Ever Give Up!!

08.01.2022 One of the things I struggled with most when I had Post Traumatic Stress, Depression and thoughts of suicide was feeling like I was alone, that no one understan...ds and that I had nowhere to turn... So what I used to do was lock myself away, keep my problems to myself and pretended that everything was okay... I might have even used alcohol to help me 'relax' more or to help me cope... I stopped living... I stopped caring... I just stopped... But all that did was make me feel more alone and made me focus on how bad I truly believed my life was - which just made it even harder to reach out and made things worse... One of the greatest lessons I have learnt on my journey to recovery is knowing that none of this was true - that I was never alone, that people do understand, that I had somewhere to turn to and that reaching out was not a sign of weakness but a show of strength and self-love... Locking yourself away or ignoring how you are feeling doesn't resolve anything and is not the answer... By acknowledging you aren't coping, or are struggling, allows you to have the conscious awareness to know that something isn't right, gives you the choice to make a decision to do something about it and to reach out for help... When you make the decision to look beyond where you are and to become more proactive in your own recovery and to take control you realise that what you are going through is not unique to you and that there are so many people struggling like you, experiencing what you do and feeling the way you are - people who care, who understand, who want to help and want to support you anyway they can... My inspiration to you, if you are struggling, or know someone that may be, is to know that You Are Not Alone... I encourage you to look beyond what you see - to get out of your head and out of your home - to stop focusing on what happened in the past and to start living in the NOW... Get up and start moving your body, focus on the positive things in your life or career, go for a walk, be grateful for all the gifts you have in your life that you may not be appreciating and reach out to someone. I did and it saved my life... I am no different or more special than anyone else. I just made different decisions and distinctions to take control of how I was feeling. I wasn't going to let what had happened to me, or how I was feeling, to define me or confine me - but refine me into the person I had to be that allowed me to fully recover and start living and loving my life again... The choice is yours... You are not your job. You are not your relationship. You are not your diagnosis - but whom you choose to be... Stand Up... Step Up... Reach Out... Never Ever Give Up!!
07.01.2022 Sometimes life challenges us and stops us in our tracks - not to defeat us but to teach us... For its how we choose to look at these events and how we respond to these 'gifts' that determines the outcome we achieve and the person we become. We can see them as a failure or feedback, a loss or a lesson or a struggle or a gift. ... We can decide at any moment how we see things, what happens next. To take control. To be in charge. For it is not our circumstances, our job, our relationship nor our diagnosis that defines us but by how well we rise after we fall. Whether we choose to live consciously or exist unconsciously is a choice. How we feel is a choice. Decide, right now, that you are worth it. That you deserve better. That you can succeed. That this is your time. Decide, right now, that no matter how many times you fall you will get back up, maybe battered but better - struggling but stronger... For as long as there is breath in your lungs and love in your heart than the journey is never over. Never Ever Give Up!!

05.01.2022 National Police Remembrance Day is a day to remember and honour those brave Australian Police officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the execution of ...their duties and who have taken their life because of their duties... I ask that we each spend a moment today thinking about, praying for and sending love to those whose selfless bravery has resulted in a career ending psychological injury - You Are Not Alone... You may no longer wear the blue armour but will always be part of this policing family... We must also spare a thought for the families and colleagues of those who are left behind and a prayer for those who continue to serve to keep us safe... Thank you for your commitment, service and sacrifice. Words cannot say how grateful we truly are for what you do and who you are...
05.01.2022 "Whether you think you can or you can't - you are right!" It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, or what you are going through in your life - what you believe will determine your outcome. I am very passionate about what I do and am a big believer that you can prevent, manage and recover from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS).... Some of the feedback that I am receiving is that 'you can't recover from PTS.' And I can understand how people can hold that belief. I used to believe that too. Most things seem impossible, until they aren't anymore. (And if you do believe that can't recover from PTS at least trust and have faith in that you can certainly learn how to manage your symptoms better and improve your quality of life.) Most people have never heard about PTS until they are diagnosed with it, or know someone who has. They draw an association to the condition where they see careers ending, relationships breaking down and lives being lost. They are feeling so overwhelmed and alone, not knowing what they are going through, not knowing what to do or where to go. And I can understand how it can be a huge leap to believe that you can go from the depths of the darkness that is PTS to being fully recovered - its like trying to eat an elephant in one bite, or try and climb a mountain in one step. I just want to open people's awareness to the possibility of recovery - that they have the power to decide to be in control of their condition - that they can take steps to get them as far away from where they are right now - to reach out to someone that understands, that can relate - who can support, educate and help them - to at the least learn how to manage their condition better, to have a better quality of life - so the thought of recovery doesn't seem so impossible - to proffer hope that life will not always be how it is right now! I never thought I could recover from PTS either, until I made the decision to take control of my life. I just made different decisions and distinctions which changed my perspective. 'When we change the way we look at things the things we look at change.' PTS is a diagnosis - it doesn't define who we are - unless we allow it too. I am willing to support and help you on your journey to as far as you believe you can achieve. You just have to make that decision and reach out for my help - Type YES below if you are ready, right now! You Are Not Alone!
04.01.2022 This is who I am... I am what i tell myself and all I can be... I am all my scars and imperfections...... I am my shadows and my vulnerabilities... I am all that you see and that which I hide from you... I am who i think I am and that which I believe I am not... I am strong and courageous yet not absent of fear... I am focused and determined yet often off course... I am full of passion and purpose yet challenged to be me... I am whole yet at times not all quite there... I am surrounded by love yet at times feel alone... I am filled with faith yet still struggle with doubt... I am the lessons from my past but not my experiences... I am the person to do the job but not the job itself... I am more than what I do yet am what I believe, dream and stand for... I am on a journey called life allowing myself to be - to surrender to what happens and allow me to be me... I am all this and so much more... I am who I decide to be...
04.01.2022 It's okay to not be okay... It's okay to ask for help... I did and it saved my life...... Now I am helping to change and save lives all over the world...
01.01.2022 If Nothing Changes then Nothing Changes... Make the decision to take control and reclaim your life, right now! I am here to support you...... You are enough... You deserve it... You've got this... Type YES below...
01.01.2022 Trigger warning: It's hard to believe that 10 years ago, in such a beautiful and tranquil place, I was almost killed doing my job as a police man, when an offender headbutted me and held me under water when I was trying to save his life from drowning. What's more amazing is how easily I was able to 'change the meaning' of that event and subsequently my life by changing the neuro-association I had created. ... By taking this photo of my daughters smiling in front of the bridge, and having it as my screensaver, it created a happier and more indelible memory for that location - so instead of seeing my daughters' faces in front of The Entrance bridge when I was drowning my subconscious mind now associated the happier memory of the photo, therefore breaking the negative connection I had created. I also used similar NLP techniques with all of my other incidents that had affected me throughout my career (and there were a few). The unconscious mind is such a powerful tool, so when you know how to use it, even Master it, you can change the way you think, feel, act and respond - and change your life!! Because I made a decision to be in control of my life and used simple NLP techniques to process flashbacks from my career I am now fully recovered from Post Traumatic Stress and more than able to talk about, reflect upon and share my experiences with others. So if you are someone that is struggling with Post Traumatic Stress and flashbacks from your career, or might know someone that is, just remember this: You are not defined by your condition - you are in control of your life and yours thoughts if you just decide to be. Just by making that decision you have already taken your first steps on the road to recovery. I invite you to reach out to me if you are ready to become the person you want to be.
01.01.2022 Remember to be kind to yourself...
