We are hoping to return to business as usual by next Wednesday, however please be mindful that regulations may change that could affect this. If you had a delivery scheduled for the next week, you will contacted directly within the coming days. ... Our team are still available to assist however best we can. For any enquiries, please send an email to [email protected] and we will respond in a timely manner. Stay safe.

20.01.2022 If you have seen some of our team members around this month, you may have noticed something a little different Every November a group of awesome team members choose to grow a mo to raise money and show support for men's health related causes. The @movember campaign aims to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% by 2030 and includes tackling such important issues as mental health and suicide prevention, testicular cancer, and prostate cancer. Too many men die to...o young. To help in the fight for men's health, the Jeffries Family will be matching all donations made to the Jeffries team. If you would like to donate to the Jeffries team then follow this link: https://au.movember.com/team/2291087 or search for the Jeffries Group MoSpace on the Movember website

19.01.2022 This photo looks set up but when Nev needed something from the office he just happened to perfectly park his truck behind Phil who was watering our winter garden beds and the skies just happened to be perfectly clear. Sometimes the shots set themselves up

18.01.2022 Composting tip #30 We love your old mouldy food! Make sure to put it in a compostable bag before adding it into your big bin to stop it from sticking to the inside What we don't love is that one fifth of Australian's grocery shop ends up in landfill bin each week. Each year Aussies waste around 7.3 million tonnes of food which is equal to about 300kg per person. ... What tips can you share to fight food waste? We are big fans of meal planning and not shopping on an empty stomach Whatever you do, please do not throw your food waste into your general waste bin. In landfill, it releases carbon dioxide and methane gases which contribute to climate change. By adding your off food into your green bin, it will be composted into soil and mulch products which help to draw carbon out of the atmosphere

17.01.2022 Happy Monday and happy post lockdown South Australia Our landscaping yard and online store are back open! Deliveries have already started going out and pick ups from our Wingfield yard became available from 7am. If you do decide to pick up, please follow the instructions on the sign at the office to help everyone stay safe ... Feel free to call us on 08 8368 3555 or email us on [email protected] for any queries you have

17.01.2022 Fruit fly is an inconvenience to everyone but conveniently you can add any spoiled fruit to your green bin to be recycled The conditions that organic material is subject to in the composting procedure kills them off so there is no risk of fruit flies living on to cause issues.

17.01.2022 Compostable Tip #27 With Australia being in the middle of hayfever season we are certain more tissues are making their way into bins. Make sure it's your green bin though Don't worry about germs on our end! The composting process gets very very hot (up to 70 degrees) making it a terrible place for anything nasty to spread. If composting can turn bones into fluff then your used tissues are an easy treat

15.01.2022 Compostable tip #29 Bamboo reusable mugs, cups, plates, cutlery and trays are not compostable despite being marketed as a more natural alternative to plastic Bamboo fibre is safe to be composted but not when it is mixed with other materials. For these products, the bamboo is ground into a powder and then glued back together into a shape. Most of these eco-alternatives contain melamine resin, a kind of glue made of formaldehyde and organic compound melamine. ... We love reusables but it is important to consider the life cycle of an item like this. Once the item is no longer desirable it is destined for landfill as the bamboo fibres can't be extracted from the plastic it is mixed with We recommend looking into metal or glass alternatives that can be repurposed or recycled

15.01.2022 Last Wednesday we were fortunate enough to attend a special sustainability assembly held by Elizabeth Grove Primary School This incredible school with the help of KESAB environmental solutions and BIN SHIFT were able to reduce waste to landfill by 87%! They also had no contamination in their green bin and no food in their general waste bin. What the staff and kids have accomplished this year is nothing short of amazing To celebrate the occasion, we sent our Director Len ...Jeffries to award them a Composting Champions award. The very first of its kind A huge shoutout to Greenhill Living and City of Playford for all the great work you do in schools to make them a greener place

13.01.2022 Compostable Tip #53 Not that we support throwing cheese out but if you have to, the green bin is the way to go #breakingitdownwithJeffries

11.01.2022 Its going to be another scorcher tomorrow so make sure you give your plants a good soak tonight During the warmer months its best to water your garden when the sun isn't out, to give them the best shot at absorbing as much water as possible If you can, put out some bowls of water for our native critters who unfortunately don't have the luxury of hiding inside with a fan and must feel pretty dehydrated

08.01.2022 Compostable Tip #52 Following on from our post last week, the wax on cheese is a landfill item so don't throw it into your green bin! #breakingitdownwithJeffries

05.01.2022 Compostable tip #31 All cooked food is safe for your green bin Unfortunately a lot of food goes to waste with plenty of parties and gatherings taking place over the next month. Everyone always brings too much food to a BBQ! Whatever scraps are leftover should be put in a certified compostable bag then added to your green bin. Give that kitchen caddy a workout ... This December we are running a 'Compost-mas' campaign to highlight what can and can't go in your green bin during the holiday season We will also be taking this opportunity to be thankful to our amazing customers and team, as well as share a meme or two to spread some holiday cheer. 2020 has been a tough year for many of you so from all of us at Jeffries, we wish you a safe and happy end of year #compostmas2020

03.01.2022 'People who drink juice don't need a handle!!' We wanted to lighten the mood today by sharing something that made our team genuinely LOL Whilst hilarious, this video does parody the challenges faced by the recycling industry. Sometimes it seems as if every product is made of a different material just to keep the industry on its toes! As organic recyclers, we are constantly adapting and learning so to stay on top of the latest packaging craze.

02.01.2022 Vin from Which Bin? is a recycling champion To kick off National Recycling Week, here are some of our favourite graphics from the campaign. Vin's motto for the green bin is 'No Logo, No Fogo' which is one we can certainly get behind! If the manufactured item you are considering putting into your green bin isn't made from natural origins (e.g paper, cornstarch, PLA) or isn't certified compostable with the seedling logo, then its a No-Go!
