15.01.2022 Yarrawonga FTA repeater tower to boost broadcasting frequency's On December 7th 2012 the Yarrawonga Free-to-air television repeater tower will make drastic changes to improve FTA television reception services to better cater for the areas that lie in the black spot from the Mt Stuart Tower, ie Northward, Townsville CBD, Mt Louisa and some of the Northern Beaches. In the past, the areas that receive FTA from Yarrawonga Tower have had to install higher end TV reception systems ...in order to receive all the FTA channels. The systems that were required to acheive this usually consisted of a high-gain antenna coupled with a signal amplifier in order to have the signal strength to fall within the required parameters. The boosted signals averaged +15dB and when the change-over occurs and the Yarrawonga tower starts transmitting the higher strength signals the reception received at the consumer end may be well above the parameters and can cause major disruptions to services and/or complete loss of reception. If you beleive that your TV receptions system may be affected by this you may need to 'downgrade' your system to allow it to receive the signals. Some signs to look for when the change-over is in place is picture distortion, pixelation, or 'loss-of-signal' signs displayed by your television set. Jeff's Aerials can have a look at your system and test it to see if you'll require any changes to receive the boosted signals.

09.01.2022 With the recent channel re shuffle, some of the channels are now broadcasting in a new codec that some televisions can't decode. The new seven channel is one of them. It affects a variety of tv' and some pick them up and some dont. Age is not really the decider, it is what mpeg stream that they are able to decode thats the decider. Dvr Hard drives and recorders seem to able to cope ok. Most smart Tvs can do a software upgrade to fix this problem
