20.01.2022 Hello friends, I hope you are all going well! For all of you in South Australia and across the world managing lockdown with little people to look after and keep busy, I’m thinking of you and will be posting a couple of new videos and activities in the coming days. Keep a look out for a song about dinosaurs and another one about feelings! In the meantime, here’s a photo of our friend Nick who came into kindy on Tuesday and Wednesday (in the Nick of time!) to record this year’s kindy songs. It was a lot of fun - and hard work keeping the energy up, but hopefully soon we will be able to share them all with you. Take care of yourselves wherever you are, and enjoy the wonder in the small, everyday things xx

14.01.2022 Hi Friends, Our song 'Black, Black, Blackout' was written with the children at Eden Hills Kindergarten when they became very interested in a power failure that had occurred in the area causing many of the children’s families to experience a ‘Black Out.’ This evoked many questions and concerns about what may have caused it, how did other people deal with it and how was it fixed? I wonder if you have experienced a Blackout at your home? Here are some activities you could do to ...explore this interesting experience and perhaps even feel prepared for when it happens in your home one day. The song has been posted in videos, I hope you enjoy it!

14.01.2022 This song is fast becoming a favourite that has surpassed the year that it was first written (I think two years ago) and seems to capture the imaginations of each group of children every since. It deals with a theme that is of high interest and comes laden with the children's questions and own experiences that evoke much discussion. It came about after a power cut that caused a black out in the local community. A transformer box caught alight and prompted a whole term of investigation and exploration, some of which is included in this song. Activity resources to follow!

13.01.2022 Hello friends, I’ll be running these classes next term (starting next week!) with the wonderful Ink Pot Arts Inc for children aged 7-12 and want to spread the word. It’ll be a gorgeous time of making, where children get to devise their own creations using storytelling, dance and theatre. We don’t know what we will come up with but it will be unique to them, and they will get to perform it to their families at the end of the term. If this sounds like something your child would like, click on the link and find out more info. Xx

11.01.2022 Hello friends, I’ll be teaching face to face with the wonderful Ink Pot Arts Inc in Mount Barker every Monday arvo in term 3. It’s going to be so much fun, come and join us in making meaning through dance, theatre and spoken word as we devise our very own performance! Xx

10.01.2022 One of my favourite gigs of the year! It was such a delight to be at the Eden Hills Kindergarten Art Show today playing a mixture of my songs and the ones the children and I have written together this year. Among the 2020 ‘greatest hits’ are two dinosaur songs, a possum in the tree at kindy song, a ‘how do you get out of a hole?’ song, our Kaurna acknowledgement song, a volcano song, and one about looking after our environment that features lines like ‘you can look after ants whenever you want, you can pick up the rubbish so the animals don’t eat it.’ Golden. I’ll be back there tomorrow arvo for some more interactive goodness with the children who wander past the ukuleles and percussion! Rainy day well spent #songwritingwithchildren #singersongwriter #acousticmusic #kidssongs #dinosaurs #possums #howdoyougetoutofahole #rainydaysongs
