19.01.2022 Do you have an African Tulip tree growing in your backyard? Do our bees a favour and have it removed! These trees might look nice but they are toxic to our bee population and without bees we wouldn’t have flowers or food!!

17.01.2022 Reduce consumption - The simple truth is that almost all Australians use more electricity than we actually need. The good thing is they’re often simple actions we can take at home to reduce our emissions footprint. Just a few include: > Turning off lights when not in use > Purchasing energy efficient products > Taking shorter showers... > Turning off power points at the wall > Using blankets or wearing extra clothes instead of turning up the heating > Scaling back the use of energy-intensive appliances where possible > Use public transport, walk or cycle for transport and commuting The other easy way to reduce consumption is to take a look at the efficiency of your electricity usage. Some relatively easy steps such as replacing halogen light bulbs with compact fluorescent or LED bulbs can result in significant savings on our footprint and in our pocket. Look for the ENERGY STAR label when shopping for appliances for guidance.

16.01.2022 Yesterday was Biological Diversity Day! As we encroach on nature and deplete vital habitats, increasing numbers of species are at risk. That includes humanity and the future we want. UN Secretary-General António Guterres... Did you know? - Current negative trends in biodiversity and ecosystems will undermine progress towards 80% of the assessed targets of 8 Sustainable Development Goals. - Three-quarters of the land-based environment and about 66% of the marine environment have been significantly altered by human actions. - 1 million animal and plant species are now threatened with extinction.

08.01.2022 Oceans cover 71 per cent of the Earth’s surface, and they hold 97 per cent of our planet’s water. World Oceans Day is celebrated across the world on June 8 and is an annual event designed to encourage people to celebrate the oceans and take steps to protect ocean health. The theme of World Oceans Day 2020 is "Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean". The oceans are facing unprecedented pressures from factors ranging from pollution to climate change. And these pressures are projected to only rise in the future. The need to balance the preservation of a healthy ocean and ever-increasing economic activities requires a fresh approach and rethinking in many areas. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jWNcY-WuRU8
