25.01.2022 I’ve been a bit weighed down with crossing my T’s and dotting my I’s recently. I have my self care and well being needs in place on a daily basis and they bring me enjoyment and pleasure but the things that really light me up and bring joy have been put aside. Sometimes I forget to prioritise this as well. It is essential to include a joyful practice daily - to keep spirits up and just to experience that lightness in a day that feels heavy. Some of my most joyful moments a...re spent with my dog and in nature, playing my singing bowls and Hapi drum, writing and when I’m creating (I also get a good hit of joy when I get a winning streak on candy crush makes my inner child happy ). I’m setting aside some time today to be with my joy Feel free to share your joyful moments and the things that light you up in the comments #joyfulmoments #ajoyfulmoment #enjoyment #maketime #beingjoy #selfcare #wellbeing #taketimeforyourself #smallthings #enjoymoremoments #dowhatmakesyouhappy #thebeautytempleyamba

19.01.2022 A simple self care nightly routine Fill a foot bath or large bowl with some warm water and add your favourite salts or oils, pop your feet in for 10 or 15 mins and pat them dry. Follow up with a soothing foot massage with your favourite oil Epsom salts are lovely to soak in & are inexpensive and you could just put a few drops of a good quality lavender oil in to keep it simple - you can also add a sprinkle of soothing herbs to the water (if you’re doing this in the eveni...ng, think of herbs and oils that relax you like chamomile or lavender, keep herbs or oils like peppermint or citrus for the morning rituals as they will uplift you). Adding a few drops of lavender oil to a nice base oil like sweet almond or jojoba will make a lovely massage oil and send you off to sleep in a beautiful, relaxed state Small, self loving habits done daily create more warmth, kindness and nourishment for yourself and keep you feeling loved and cared for #selfcare #nourishment #selflove #selflovingkindness #smallhabits #smallhabitualroutines #foryourfeet #yourfeetwillthankyou #wellbeing #relaxing #enjoyyourself #thebeautytempleyamba
18.01.2022 Make your own natural body scrub Body scrubs are great for removing dead skin cells, freshening up your energy and just feel great to use I’ve used rose red petals, celtic salt, epsom salt and jojoba oil for this one, it smells and feels beautiful. Just mix them all together and put it in a jar and use next time you’re in the shower.... Use circular motions when using your scrub and use it after you cleanse your body, the oils in the scrub will remain on your skin after a light rinse to get the salt and herbs off and if you just give yourself a light pat dry, you usually find that you don’t need a moisturiser (great for a humid day). You can use any herbs you like, mix a few together or keep it simple with just one. Try different oils to see what your skin likes and experiment with salts and essential oils too - if you use a good quality herb, you’ll find that the scent is strong enough. Make enough for one use only as there is no preservative, if your scrub gets water in it, it will grow bacteria Avoid using on scratches, cuts or sunburn or skin conditions like eczema etc and avoid using on the face and neck as your skin needs a gentler exfoliant for those areas Happy scrubbing *always research your herbs to make sure they’re safe for you to use. #bodyscrub #naturalbeauty #enjoyselfcare #loveyourskin #rosescrub #jojobaoil #skinbeauty #enjoy #thebeautytempleyamba
18.01.2022 Doing a double cleanse - once to remove your make up and once again to clean your skin - will help to give your skin a nice deep clean. Remember to use a toner after cleansing to remove any traces of your cleanser and to rebalance your skin’s ph level, follow up with your serums, treatments and moisturisers. Always use upward and outward circular motions when using your products on your face as this encourages your skin to stay firm and supple ... If you would like to know about or are interested in buying some lovely new products for yourself or a loved one, please get in touch #skincare #skintreatment #beautyregime #selfcare #loveyourskin #thebeautytempleyamba
17.01.2022 Keeping your brushes clean I already know what yours look like I am guilty of the same (with my own personal brushes, not my pro ones ), anyway, it's a good practice to keep them clean for hygiene reasons and because they are an investment so it's good to take care of them. I have had a few of these brushes in the photo for over 20 years, so taking care of them with a good clean every now and again will have them lasting a long time ... So to give your brushes a clean, put a little squirt of antiseptic hand wash into your palm, wet your brush under a tap and then swirl the brush around in your palm. You may have to do this twice if they're really messy give them a rinse under running water, always keeping the bristles facing downwards - never run the water directly into the bristles with the brush facing upwards, water will settle into the part that holds the bristles and will grow bacteria - and then slide the brush between two fingers to get the excess water out and smooth the bristles back into shape. Lay them flat and on the edge of a bench or table so that their bristles receive some airflow. If you do this in the morning after you put your make up on, they will be dry by the next day. You can put them out into sunlight too, it helps to kill any harmful bacteria. You can use the same method for applicators and sponges too. Enjoy your clean brushes!! #cleanyourbrushes #makeupbrushes #hygiene #beautytips #thebeautytempleyamba
14.01.2022 Part of the skin’s purpose is to protect us from the elements and microbes and it does a really good job of keeping things out, so we need to prepare our skin to receive our products by allowing the pores to be open to better absorb what we’re putting in #beauty #prepareyourskin #skinbeauty #skinbeautycare #beautytip #loveyourskin #thebeautytempleyamba

12.01.2022 Nourishing hand treat Self massage ~ using your favourite oil or lotion, apply a small amount to hands and gently massage it into your skin. Using gentle strokes, follow the bones in the back of one hand with one or two fingers, moving them from the knuckles to the wrist a few times.... 11.01.2022 In the Southern Hemisphere, Beltane is the half way point between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. Beltane is one of the Sabbats or 8 Holy Days. Sabbats are seasonal gateways that are celebrated/acknowledged at different times of the year - on the Soltices, Equinoxes and at the mid points between the two. These are the times of year where we learn the lesson of the Holy Day and what it represents as it is usually mirrored and present in our own lives. ... Holy Days are a wonderful reminder of where we are at, where we may need to take stock of our lives and realign or how far we may have disconnected from our own unique truths. They are like seasonal guide posts, helping us find our way when we may have become too bogged down in our worry, or a helpful sign that we may need to slow down and start making preparations to create a more harmonious life. So Beltane is a time of celebrating your growth and the growth of new things. The earth is fertile and she is growing things too and so it is a great time to connect with Mother Nature. Post the Full Moon in Taurus it is also a wonderful time for sensual pleasure and to celebrate your successes! A time to start new things, projects, ideas - start planting and growing for your future Enjoy your celebrations, enjoy your success and celebrate your growth and wisdom and plant your new seeds for a fresh beginning!

07.01.2022 Self Care If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or caught up in nervous energy, it can be difficult to bring yourself back into a place of inner calm. Over the years, I have gained many tools to help with bringing myself back into a state of ease and one of the easiest and simplest ones I use is breath work. It can be done anywhere at anytime and is so helpful when my mind is running out of control.... Re focusing your attention to your breath not only calms the mind but it brings you back into your body, into the here and now, grounds your energy and allows you to realign with what’s present so you can be guided into the best action for yourself. A simple technique is to try focusing on how the breath feels as it enters your nostrils on the inhale. It should feel cool and sharp. Keep your attention focused there and notice how the breath feels on the exhale, it will feel warm. Notice how your body responds to the breath. Which part of you is expanding/responding? Can you direct the breath to a different place - the chest, middle of the belly or abdomen? Can you deepen the breath and how does it feel to you? Can you hold your attention completely on each inhale and exhale? Which part of your body is speaking to you? What is your body asking you for? By bringing your attention back into your body, you can begin to understand what you’re feeling, how it’s affecting your well being and begin to address and resolve whatever is present for you. Knowing how to identify and give yourself the comfort, soothing or nourishment you need is a great step towards self healing. It will get easier to recognise when you are in need of self love, self care and nourishment and to give yourself permission to take time out to provide and give to yourself all of the care you are deserving of. #selfcare #loveyourself #breathe #breath #innercalm #selflove #nourishment #thebeautytempleyamba
