24.01.2022 We have kindly been donated an eggceptional amount of eggs by our friend Nathan Brumby. Nathan works with local organisations such as Jen's Hens who today gav...e 30 dozen eggs; more than enough for each student Nathan also dropped off personal hygiene products and a complete new suit and business shirts which makes all the difference when an important job interview comes along. 24.01.2022 Moving day, our sheds are moved every few days to give the ladies fresh ground to forage on.

24.01.2022 It's moving day for 1000 of our babies. The chooks have moved into a purpose built mobile shed. We fence them in for a couple days to ensure they know where there home, feed and water is. By all accounts, the girls like their new accommodation!

14.01.2022 It's a beautiful Sunday morning here at Jen's Hens. The babies are really enjoying the warmer weather as it means we can open the curtains to the rearing shed. They still do not have enough feathers to properly regulate their body temperature, so we have to ensure they are kept warm.

13.01.2022 Today we put the last group of chookies out in the paddock. It was not an ideal day, being hot, but they loved the misters and have stayed close to their shed.

11.01.2022 It's wonderful to get great feedback on our eggs. Anne and Colin dropped in to a retailer on the Gold Coast that has been stocking our eggs. The retailer told them they'd done a blind taste test with their staff of the many brands of eggs they stock in the shop. Proud to say that Jen's Hens eggs were voted number 1!

11.01.2022 Apologies in advance for post spam coming in the following days. We are good at taking pics and videos but not so great at uploading and even worse at adding them to Instagram. This is something we are trying to fix.

10.01.2022 Boiled eggs are a family favourite in summer salads. Nothing beats fresh eggs. These were collected and processed today.

09.01.2022 Meet Popcorn and (baby)Toffee. These 2 lovely boys were purchased to add to our little herd. Toffee is in with Priscilla and Harriet. These girls are possibly pregnant, so have been put in together. Toffee has not long been weaned and the girls are doing a great job looking after him. Popcorn is in with George and Snowy. They are teaching him the ropes. He's a lovely boy who will come up to you.

08.01.2022 Today the chickies are 4 weeks old. They have their weekly weigh in to ensure they are gaining weight and growing. Today is also vaccination day. We put the vaccination through their drinking water.

07.01.2022 I have 2 chooks available for rehoming. They are 8mths old and laying. They are being bullied in the paddock, so have been removed for their own safety. Please PM if you are interested.

05.01.2022 Tomorrow the girls will be 3 weeks old. They are already getting their tail and wing feathers. Their colours are starting to come through too.

03.01.2022 Wow, I've just been doing a tally of the eggs sent to our various outlets. We have now sold 9847 cartons (that's 118,164 eggs) since June!! A big thank you to all the outlets who have given us the opportunity to put these fabulous eggs on the table of households around Australia. Thank you also to the wonderful consumers who have embraced Jen's Hens and our story. ... To celebrate the 10,000 carton of Jen's Hens Organic, Free Range eggs, we will be giving away a plush hen (made for us by the fabulously talented Oz-tralian Signature Animals). Please tell us in 25 words or less why you like Jen's Hens eggs. Winner will be decided on 12th September.

03.01.2022 Must be Sunday. The cool room is empty and the van is full, off to market tonight with more of your favourite eggs.

02.01.2022 The logistics of packaging a product is a much bigger deal than we had thought it would be but I think we finally have it under control. We have 2000 boxes and almost 25000 printed egg cartons in stock ready to be filled with your favourite eggs.
