24.01.2022 Don’t be aim-less! In any sport or activity requiring a degree of precision in terms of hitting a target, then the process of ‘taking aim’ is integral. This process serves to give the individual the best possible chance of hitting the target. In sports such as shooting, archery or basketball, no shot is taken until this process has been meticulously followed. This is the all-important preparation work, the steps that are taken each and every time before the final or end resu...lt is seen. Watch a basketball player shooting free throws they will go through the exact same routine for EVERY shot and they have probably been repeating the same routine for years on end, since they first started playing. They have found what is comfortable and works for them and repeated and perfected the process thousands of times. And one day, ‘taking aim’ might win them a world title or make them a household name. Setting goals is no different. Hitting the target and achieving the goal can and will not happen without first undergoing the process of ‘taking aim’. This could take many forms and be seen as many different ‘processes’, all of which need to be goal specific. Countless people tend to wander through life aimlessly, with no targets or goals to keep them focused and improving themselves. What a sad existence I believe human potential is an amazing and exciting thing, and most of us barely scratch the surface of what we are capable of. There are countless opportunities in this world if your eyes and mind are open to the possibilities. Dream big. Set the bar high. Perfect your process of taking aim..and HIT THE TARGET!!!

24.01.2022 Looking to create change in your world? Then it will require some level of discomfort. Learn to embrace it and recognise that it's in the times of discomfort and personal challenge where you grow and take the biggest strides. In terms of physical change and altering your body composition (losing fat, gaining muscle or ideally both!), it's your ability to push into and push through pain and discomfort zones that make the biggest difference to putting you on, and keeping you ...on, the path to success. I watched an amazing television series recently titled 'The Selection' which focused on 30 civilians and their endeavour to complete a selection course designed and delivered by a team of ex Marines, Navy Seals, Army Rangers and Green Berets. Their aim was to finish the course, and they were not made aware of the duration or what the course consisted of. It was brutal, and presented an extreme physical and mental challenge. Quitting was entirely voluntary, and there was no prizemoney of any kind involved. The levels of pain and discomfort these guys and girls experienced was extreme at times. The instructors continually reminded them that they were simply "uncomfortable" during these times and it would pass. Depending on what they were doing, this feeling of being uncomfortable would be anywhere from a matter of minutes, hours or days - depending on how far into the course they got. In case you end up watching it, and I highly recommend you do, I won't reveal any more details about the show itself, but to watch these people go through what they did was both amazing and inspiring. Of course, they each had different motivating factors as to why they wanted to do this. FIND YOUR WHY. That's your motivator and the reason you are doing what you are doing and aiming for what you are aiming for. Everything flows from here and this needs to be your focus during times of pain and discomfort. You need to OWN YOUR WHY. Plan your HOW. Formulate the actions you need to take to put you onto the path to achievement. Set goals, make lists and do the work. Achieve your WHAT. The motivators in your WHY, combined with the actions in your HOW, will lead to the achievement of your what. Needless to day, you will need focus, consistency and commitment - embrace pain and discomfort as signs you are on the right track.

20.01.2022 CREATING CHANGE If questioned, I don’t know anyone (myself included) that could not reel off a number of things in their lives or that of family or friends that they wouldn’t change in some way. Change is inherent in our world, and will be encountered in almost everything we do. Take technology for example it’s mind boggling how vastly different the way we interact and communicate with each other is when compared to just 10 years ago. ... Change can often be forced upon us, and we are then required to react and/or adapt to that new situation or set of circumstances. Much of the time the change is uninvited and definitely unwelcome our natural instinct is to maintain ‘homeostasis’ a state of stability, and change can disrupt that. On the flipside, change can be joyful, uplifting and life changing. The birth of a child, a career advancement or the achievement of a physical or sporting goalall changes that we welcome, we work towards, we look forward to and we celebrate. In any example of change, a set of behaviours could be listed that would be required to bring about that change. That particular list could look one of two ways, or often a combination of both: - What behaviours do I need to less of, or discourage? - What behaviours do I need to more of, or encourage? Using the example of physical change and the process of reducing body fat/building muscle etc, the lists would look something like this: I need to do less of, or discourage: poor nutritional choices, poor lifestyle choices, being lazy, using excuses, being negative.and I need to do more of, or encourage: regular movement, positive eating habits, making choices that align with my goal, being positive. It’s actually very simple, but very rarely easy. This same process of listing behaviours to be discouraged and encouraged can be applied to any change you want to create, any goal you’re wanting to achieve. Your current behaviours, thoughts and attitudes are implicit in creating your current RESULTS. What new behaviours do you need to CREATE to bring about lasting CHANGE in your world?

13.01.2022 This is a fantastic message

12.01.2022 LOVE THE PROCESS When working towards a goal, having an authentic enjoyment of the actions required to get you there is essential, and will directly correlate to the level to which your goals are achieved. If your goal is physique related, then an enjoyment of exercise and healthy eating is vital. In the same way, if you're working towards a degree or qualification, enjoyment of the learning process is vital.... Whilst it's true that goals may be able to be achieved without a true love for the process involved, it's all but guaranteed that the results experienced will be vastly different than those achieved when a set of actions is performed with a true love and passion for the task at hand. If you've set a goal, OWN the actions required to get you there. Perform those actions with passion and enthusiasm. ENJOY the daily process and routine and be consistent in the application of physical action and positive mindset.

10.01.2022 What direction is your momentum taking you in? At any given time, we are moving forward, moving backwards or standing still. This is true when we consider any area of our lives career, relationships, finances and physical health/wellness related goals. And the direction you are moving in is directly related to the MOMENTUM you are creating with your thoughts, attitudes and actions.... If you are not moving forward, then you’re not making progress. If you’re not making progress, then you’re at a standstill at best, moving backwards at worst. Momentum is created by the application of FORCE. An uncontrolled force can push you in any direction and easily take you somewhere you don’t want to be, whereas a focused and purposeful force can be aimed in a direction of your choice. Once a direction is created through the application of force, then regular ‘compass checks’ are needed to ensure the ship is still on course. Momentum must be maintained and like a fire, needs to be stoked and fuelled to keep it alive. Set goals plan the actions needed to allow you to achieve them. Monitor and evaluate. Once achieved, set new goals. Repeat the process. Surround yourself with people that support, inspire and motivate you. Never stop learning. Take some time to run through the following questions the answers should provide you with an insight into your current direction, and how quickly you may be travelling in that direction! It may highlight a need to put some corrective actions into place to reverse a current direction if it’s not the way you want to be heading. What patterns are you setting in place by what you focus on? What outcomes are you helping to create with your self-talk? Are your actions, on a daily basis, pushing your forwards towards your goals? Do you have clearly defined goals so you are able to diagnose the direction of your momentum?

06.01.2022 Feel like you're 'time poor' and not able to exercise sufficiently during the day as a result? At the risk of possibly stating the obvious, getting up earlier in the morning may be a simple way to give yourself a little more time, as well as a chance to get your exercise done for the day. I've recently made a change to the time my weekday AM sessions run - we now start at 5.30am, meaning you're all done by 6.30am and ready to tackle the day!... Running year round (indoors in the colder months) in south Tuggeranong, sessions are designed to challenge, and in doing so regularly bring about positive changes in fitness, strength and mindset. Drop me a message for more details.

04.01.2022 WORK FOR IT I think it would be safe to say that not many goals, hopes and dream come to fruition unless a lot of work is put in - sure, there are always exceptions but I believe this statement is true for the vast majority of us, in the vast majority of situations. All goals start with a hope and a dream. But following that initial (and important) process, then ACTIONS must be planned and WORK put into action.... This WORK can take many forms - physical training, academic study, strict dieting, personal development courses or a combination of these or many other things. In all cases, the process of achieving goals requires ongoing focus, dedication and commitment. If you're not prepared to put in the effort, then you'll need to be comfortable with not achieving the results.

03.01.2022 "Be a success seeker, not a failure avoider" This was a key message that I took out of a Ted Talk that I was watched recently, and it really stuck with me. In this day and age, negativity is everywhere (just turn on the TV!) and it tends to permeate many areas of our lives, and therefore how we view and approach many aspects of our daily tasks and routines.... But a simple switch in thinking, as highlighted by the sentence "be a success seeker, not a failure avoider" can make a significant difference in not just thought process, but the action and attitudes that stem from those thoughts. Look for opportunities in which you can 'succeed' and tackle them head on - yes, success is not always guaranteed but personally I'd much rather give myself every chance of succeeding rather than always 'playing it safe' and simply 'not failing' - in doing that, what have you achieved?? "Why not go out a limb? That's where the fruit is." What successes are you possibly missing out on just because you're more focused on NOT FAILING rather than being fixated and driven by SUCCEEDING??

02.01.2022 Don't hibernate this winter! Create personal health and fitness habits and actions that will set you up for sustained success. Join like-minded people who enjoy a laugh and being pushed. Join me for indoor exercise sessions throughout the winter months on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings between 6am - 7am. Contact me NOW before my next 8 week block commences on Monday May 29th.

01.01.2022 ARE YOU IN ALIGNMENT? Do your behaviours and actions on a daily basis align with your goal(s) and what you are trying to achieve? Chiropractors are specialists who will manipulate and adjust joints so that they are in proper alignment and can therefore function and serve the body as a whole in the way they are designed to. ... In much the same way, quite often our daily actions and behaviours can easily become out of alignment with our goals, and therefore lead us off track. It's important to be able to quickly identify times at which this occurs, so corrective actions can be implemented to bring your trajectory back on course. Take time to sit down and assess your progress towards your goals, and ask yourself: Do I know what actions I need to be taking on a daily basis? Am I doing those? What behaviours do I need to do more of and reinforce? And what do I need to do less of, or discourage? CREATE new actions, behaviours and attitudes, and you'll CHANGE your results!
