25.01.2022 2020 has been really tough on so many of us. Hopefully, this $600 electricity credit will help ease the pressure - particularly in the lead-up to Christmas. The credit is fully funded through the recent Bell Group settlement, for the losses incurred in the Bell Group collapse in the early 1990s. It made sense that these funds go straight back to Western Australians. If this credit means you can spend some extra money, it would be great to use it to support our local WA busin...esses. By spending local, you'll be helping to support WA jobs, support your fellow West Aussies, and keep WA safe and strong.

21.01.2022 I had one of the loveliest evenings I’ve had in quite some time at the Swan Valley and Eastern Regions Slow Food Sunset Dinner! The food was absolutely delicious, the venue was beautiful and the company was fantastic!! Thanks so much for inviting mum and I!! It’s so wonderful to have organisations like this in our community, celebrating local produce, supporting community and urging us all to think a little harder about where our food comes from and how it makes its way to our tables.

19.01.2022 This morning, I joined ABC Perth’s ‘JessFest’, with Jessica Short and Jessica Strutt. The Focus program was about women’s participation in politics: how to get involved and what to expect from a political career. It was a massive change for me - so different from my career in the corporate world, but the journey so far has been amazing. Anything worth achieving is hard work - and this job really can be - but it’s also a deeply rewarding, life changing experience that gives y...ou so many opportunities to make a genuine difference. ICYMI: The podcast of our program is here: https://www.abc.net.au//p/programs/focus/she-runs/12710566 Jess Short has founded She Runs, to assist women who want to pursue opportunities in public life. Their campaign school is targeted at 18-35yo women. If you have an interest, I’d strongly encourage you to get involved, and am always happy to have a chat about it

04.01.2022 Family and domestic violence is a scourge on society and our laws must work to protect victims and reduce violence. Two new offences came into effect in Western Australia yesterday to protect victims of family and domestic violence. Research tells us that non-lethal strangulation is one of the strongest indicators of an increased risk of homicide. ... There are often no visible injuries, but it can still have severe medical consequences for the victim. To reflect the seriousness of this conduct, our new law against ‘suffocation and strangulation’ means it can be charged and prosecuted as a specific criminal offence.

04.01.2022 The Ellenbrook Secondary College showcase is always an absolutely fantastic night - but tickets sell out FAST, so get in quickly!!
