07.01.2022 So what are we doing to prevent the transmission of COVID-19? We have been monitoring the advice from the Department of Health and the NDIS and have on-boarded their advice in the following ways: - Strict implementation of our infectious disease control policy which requires regular use of disinfectant sanitiser before and after making contact with a client - Regular cleaning of all contact points, including switches, benches, door knobs, pens, the EFT machine and chairs... - Some sessions will end a touch earlier than normal so the clinician can have time to sanitise the office space, and also minimize cross over between coming and going families - Under investigation is the use of Telehealth, where therapy is delivered online using a platform such as Skype or Zoom. This is going to be rolled out as an option for those who want it for speech very shortly, while implementation for OT is still being determined and we hope to have an update on that soon. We need to ensure our obligations to the clients service delivery are still met with this format - All staff admin days must now be taken from home where practical to reduce person to person contact We would like to assure our clients that we are doing what we can to ensure that we reduce the risk of transmitting this virus. However, the therapy is very important to a persons development and in line with the NDIS expectation of continuity of supports, we will remain open for as long as we can, with online delivery remaining an option for the worst case scenario where we cannot. In the meantime, please stay safe, look after the elderly, share resources you have with those who need and support all small businesses as they are the life-blood of society and are hurting the most at the moment.
