Thanks to Alicia for her dedication to her art as a top notch recorder player and for championing Aussie composers. Michael Finnegan / Rain Rain Oranges and Lemons / Frere Jacques All the Pretty Little Horses Yes the first two are mashups - lots of fun! This website has LOT of Aussie composers on it - so if you're after something more senior then check out all the other music available on there, and support your local composers. *please forgive the slightly dodgy video as I made my 11-year-old do it as an iso-project..... I think he did ok yeah? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wScdLSq-mzk&t=5s

11.01.2022 Another score title page commissioned artwork from M:29 Creative director Mike Morphett. I'm planning on doing this for all my new pieces from now on - love it...! The piece has been recorded and in the edit room now - excited to have it performed by the amazing Alicia Crossley who commissioned the work last year for her new album "Bass Instincts".

10.01.2022 I haven’t managed to get an artist account with Spotify because of a glitch in the system. But after receiving my AMCOS statement where I got 0.0013c per stream (or something to that extent) for some of my past recordings I just don’t want to be a part of it. Spotify lines the pockets of business men. Not artists.

09.01.2022 Jigsaw Music is proud to have provided the orchestration for the score to "I Am Woman" by composer Rafael May. Now available on STAN it tells the incredible story of the first Australian pop or rock singer to win a Grammy - Helen Reddy.

03.01.2022 Cant wait to crank up the sound and watch this this weekend! The real score by Michael Yezerski Composer is really fantastic, recorded here in Sydney at Trackdown Scoring Stage and mixed by Evan McHugh. With Australian director Elissa Down - who I think is a comedy genius! And the film is family friendly and has a great message. Orchestrated by Jigsaw Music - of course!

02.01.2022 The Night Parrot is one of the most elusive and mysterious birds in the world. Believed to be extinct for 100 years, this shy, nocturnal, ground-dwelling Austra...lian parrot with its distinctive green and gold feathers was finally spotted in the wild, and a 56,000 hectare reserve has been created to protect and nurture the tiny remaining population. Setting a bush poetry-style text created by librettist Jeff Wells, composer Jessica Wells traces in music the story of the Night Parrot, and the quest to find it and bring it back from the edge of extinction: an exploration, she says, ‘of the human endeavour that had almost destroyed this little bird, but has now saved it.’ Her music evokes the vast and sparse outback environment that the Night Parrot inhabits; it examines the predators and dangers that threaten its existence; it takes us to Victorian England and the posh drawing rooms where stuffed birds were sent; it shows us the first time a bird was held in human hands for over 130 years; and finally, it reflects on the importance of the effort to preserve the species now and into the future. Performed by award-winning soprano Morgan England-Jones and the Acacia Quartet, this is a heartwarming and uplifting musical account of one of this country’s great stories.

01.01.2022 Been a bit busy to post on what Team Jigsaw have been working on so will remedy that now! Premiered in Tasmania in January was the experimental opera Judith’s Return featuring musicians from the TSO and soprano Jacqueline Dark. The score was created using some midi provided by creators James Brennan and Szczepan Pospieszalski, as well as a fair bit of audio transcribing from improvised performances recorded in Poland.... We are now in the process of completing the full score, which was added to by MD Gary Wain from the TSO, the music was highly evolving right up until the first performance! Cliff Bradley and Jessica Wells collaborated on the music preparation job and it was completed in Dorico software. https://www.insitearts.com.au/projects/judiths-return
