01.01.2022 GLOBAL GRANT: Humanitarian Project of Rotary Club of Yala, Nepal and Rotary Club of Jindalee, Brisbane. GRANT : PROVIDING PCR ( POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION) machine for testing and identifying infected people effectively, and efficiently isolate them to fight COVID-19.... The objective of this project is to work jointly on increasing the effort to prevent, contain and mitigate COVID -19 in Nepal. More specifically providing a community hospital located in Madhyapur Thimi (a municipality of Bhaktapur district zone of central Nepal) a PCR machine. This community hospital can hardly conduct 8 tests per day using its old lab machines which was installed to carry out TB skin tests (Mantou Tuberculum Skin Test). Installation of a PCR machine that could test 1000 or more swabs in a day and within 1-2 hours will help identify infected people effectively, and efficiently isolate them in designated and facilitated locations.
