25.01.2022 We all know that 2020 has been a very difficult, and at times, challenging year. It has tested our resolve, and our strengths and weaknesses in many ways. As we journey into 2021, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your trust and loyalty throughout 2020. Throughout 2021, I hope you embrace all that life has to offer, conquer your fears and reach new heights. I’d like to wish each of you, and your loved ones a safe, happy and healthy year ahead. I count... my blessings that good people such as you believe in Jissen Dojos, and have stayed loyal. I look forward to seeing you all on the mats again next week. 23.01.2022 Outstanding effort by everyone that attended today’s Algester class. A great vibe, and humble people who possess excellent skills and knowledge. With the combined experience of our instructors and students, and their extensive experience in policing, military and hostile environment security contracting, without a doubt, Jissen Dojos is where Tradition meets the Real World

22.01.2022 Your training must prepare you physically, mentally and tactically to the point that Its a natural reaction.....because in the Real World of violence and hurt, you may not have the time to make a decision Paul J DaiShihan & Founder Bujinkan Jissen Dojos

22.01.2022 At Bujinkan Jissen Dojos, we never just give out rank and belts like often the case within the martial arts, and in particular, the Bujinkan community. Rewarding a person based on attendance, financial gain, or their ability just learning to a script is not who we are. Over the past 30 + years Ive seen ranks given out to those that havent got a clue, let alone then be put in a position of authority where they are allowed to teach. Its heartbreaking to see at the Hombu, h...Continue reading

22.01.2022 Excellent class tonight at our Redcliffe Dojo and well done to everyone that attended. Keep up the great work team Stay safe, train often and always remain humble. Paul J DaiShihan & Founder Bujinkan Jissen Dojos

21.01.2022 You should always train with purpose........Otherwise you are just going through the motions, and you are not learning, retaining and preparing for when that purpose is violent, and up close and personal Paul J DaiShihan & Founder Bujinkan Jissen Dojos

20.01.2022 Ive just finished watching this podcast and informal chat with Noguchi Soke. It was conducted by Paul Masse who did an outstanding job coordinating it and hosting it. There was so much to learn, as well as a few good laughs, and excellent insights of the evolution of the Bujinkan. It was also a wonderful opportunity to reflect over my 30+ years of being part of the Bujinkan. Noguchi Soke is not only a wonderful martial artists, teacher and warrior, but hes such a humble an...d kind human being. Ive always enjoyed his classes, and have so much respect for him. Do yourself a favour and sign up for the next one to be held this Sunday. Youll get to hear his story and learn from his experiences! This Kuden Series is truly inspirational. 15.01.2022 What can an intruder do to you in the minutes that it takes for the police to arrive..? I often hear people say they’ll learn to protect themselves one day.....there are seven days in a week and one day isn’t one of them...!!! You decide

11.01.2022 Outstanding effort by everyone that attended tonight’s class at Redcliffe. Tonight’s focus was that you must always train as you fight. This is the guiding principle for keeping your skills sharp and ready to be called upon in a moment’s notice

11.01.2022 Too often these days we see the BS Art of Catching Punches being taught in so many classes within the BJK. Often it’s because those teaching this rubbish haven’t got a clue about Real World violence. Other reasons are because they try to mimic what is taught in the Hombu, yet don’t understand what is being taught there, or their stop-start teaching methodologies impress their students. It might impress students in the dojo but it’ll only get them seriously injured or worst... still, dead if they try to do the same crap on the street. No attacker is going to ever stand motionless whilst allowing you all the time in the world to do fancy techniques against them. There’s way too much crap being taught, and more concerning is that way too many people are like sheep following each other thinking they can catch a punch thrown by some violent piece of shit ( POS) attacking them. So watch the video and ask yourself these questions.... 1. How many punches did the offender throw in the 3 seconds of this attack? 2. Realistically, what’s the chances ( apart from zero) of catching a punch in this scenario. Seriously, if you think catching punches in the dojo is effective, and realistic training to prepare you for the dangers of violence in the Real World, then you are in for a rude awakening.....!! Stay safe, train often and always remain humble. Paul J DaiShihan & Founder Bujinkan Jissen Dojos

10.01.2022 What a wonderful way to spend the Easter weekend with everyone that attended today’s class. Another excellent turn out considering the long weekend, and having to wear masks again for the next few weeks. It’s always a mix of nostalgia and pride when I have the opportunity to teach techniques to my students in 2021, which were taught to me by Soke, and the other Japanese Shihans that I had the honour to train with and learn from back in the very early 90’s. I’m grateful that... I kept detailed notes from all my classes at the hombu from the very first trip in 1990 and all the trips since then. At a time when smart phones, and digital cameras were not a part of our mainstream lives, it was important to take copious notes and diagrams to capture and retain the valuable lessons. Thanks to all my students that attended class, and I’m Happy Easter to you and your families Stay safe, train often and always remain humble. 09.01.2022 Congratulations to Steve B who was graded today to 1st Dan Shodan Steve joined Bujinkan Jissen Dojos (BJD) two years ago after training at another Bujinkan dojo for several years. Since becoming a member of BJD, Steve has worked extremely hard during our regular classes, as well as many many hours in his own time, including the COVID-19 shut down restrictions, and his grading today is a testament to his ongoing dedication and commitment. 08.01.2022 If you understand the basics, training for the basics, retain the basics then theyll be there for you when things shit comes knocking on your door and you face violence up close and personal. And understanding the basics ISNT about catching punches in the air, which is unfortunately, what we see way too often throughout the BJK. If you are training to look impressive, then go back to catching punches. But dont think for one minute that going from wearing a gi in the dojo ...to jeans and a t-shirt means you are ready for the street. Out in the Real World you wont be catching punches in the air. However; If you are training to survive Real World violence, then train for it properly and understand the difference between whats going to work on the street and whats ineffective. If your mindset is not in tune with your training then you will only fail. I welcome your thoughts, opinions and feedback Kind regards, Paul J DaiShihan & Founder Bujinkan Jissen Dojos

06.01.2022 We had a fantastic class at Redcliffe last night where we combined Shurikenjutsu in combination with Taijutsu Everyone trained well, and had a great time in accordance with social distancing requirements. Keep up the excellent work team ... Paul J DaiShihan & Founder Bujinkan Jissen Dojos

06.01.2022 If you maintain a good heart, you are respectful, and remain humble, then our door is open for you to return

06.01.2022 QUESTION: For every 10 people who threaten you with violence, how many do you think are armed with an edged weapon? 2-3, 4-6, 7?What do you think? Ask any current serving police officer and youd be shocked with the true answer. You MUST ALWAYS be prepared that every POS who confronts you with any type of violence is armed with an edged weapon. Furthermore, YOU MUST prepare and train for these types of attacks, and NOT just in the comfort of your dojo or hall. Most of us al...ready know that anyone can walk into any discount store, and for a few dollars, arm themselves with a concealable blade that can fuck you up real bad in a very short timeframe. If your edged weapons training isnt dynamic, exhausting, confronting and as realistic as possible, then you need to stop pretending, otherwise, you may end up as another unfortunate victim of a stabbing. Stabbings are a common occurrence across Australia, and throughout the world, and crime statistics as well as the increased media reporting shows they are on the increase within our communities. I welcome your thoughts, comments and feedback. 04.01.2022 Why did I post this and what does it have to do with the Bujinkan? As far as Im concerned it has EVERYTHING to do with the Bujinkan and martial arts in general. After being a student of the martial arts for 41 years and the Bujinkan for 31 years, its extremely disappointing to see the arrogance, inflated egos, and narrow mindsets of so many within the Bujinkan. The increase of Chairborne and Keyboard Warriors on so many Bujinkan related forums, and their belittling comment...s and disrespect towards others is pathetic. At a time when there is so much death, mystery, sadness, heartache and uncertainty throughout the world, what I see more and more is a lack of integrity and respect for others. It seems everyones a tough guy who thinks they are Sokes spokesperson, or that they are some special forces guru, grandmaster, or expert historian. Its ok to not agree with other peoples opinions and its part of life. You can discuss it within your own dojo, your own internal members group page, and you can have your own opinions etc. So many times, people who are new to the Bujinkan will ask questions, make a comment or post a video. Instead of attacking these people and pulling rank, how about we encourage and help them. Maybe then the martial arts community wouldnt think of the Bujinkan as a joke. However; if you dont know a person, have never met that person, and havent a clue of what their background is, then is it really necessary to slander them, belittle their thoughts or views, and worst of all, make personal attacks against them. Furthermore, sitting behind the safety of a computer screen belittling another person because their view is different to yours is disgusting. Often the reason others dont like you or slander you online is because of ignorance, jealousy or their own insecurity. There are many good people within the Bujinkan with good hearts, as there are throughout the martial arts community. Unfortunately, there are also those that self rate themselves because they are high ranking in the Bujinkan, when in reality, they wouldnt have a clue how to survive a violent attack in the Real World. So maybe, before you personally attack and belittle another person online from the comfort and safety of your lounge chair, stop and think before you attack a person because they have a different opinion then yours. Integrity is one of the most important traits of a true warrior. There is no place for people without integrity both within the Bujinkan, as well as the martial arts community. I welcome your thoughts, opinions and feedback Kind regards, and my sincere best wishes and thoughts to those throughout the world who are still affected by Covid-19. Paul J DaiShihan & Founder Bujinkan Jissen Dojos

04.01.2022 Always observe your opponent carefully. You need to use the first seconds of every encounter to evaluate the length of their blade, the length of their arms, etc." Masaaki Hatsumi
