24.01.2022 Next time you are going for a walk past kindergarten, have a look at Spoonville along our fence. We would love to see our spoonville family grow so please feel free to decorate your own spoon and bring it along to join the rest of the JJs spoonville community . Scissors and ribbon are on the fence to make it easy to add your creations. Have fun!

23.01.2022 Great to visit JJ McMahon Memorial Kindergarten in Kew today with my colleague Sonya Kilkenny MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Early Childhood Education, to anno...unce that the Andrews Labor Government will provide $74,580 in funding to build a new inclusive room to increase capacity for kinder classes and allow for extended hours of kindergarten programs. Making Victoria the Education State starts with the early years. Our record investment and reforms are making this happen by leading the nation in early childhood education and ensuring that every child gets the best start in life.

23.01.2022 Hello JJ community, Come and join us this Saturday at Hawthorn Bunnings for our first fundraiser of the year - the long-established sausage sizzle AND CAKE STALL. This year we are raising funds to upgrade the teaching staffs' 10 year old technology. Come and enjoy a sausage in bread or a piece of Mars bar slice and rescue our educators from Ice-Age-ly slow computers!... 22.01.2022 Held annually on 5 October since 1994, World Teachers Day commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. In 2019, World Teachers Day will celebrate teachers with the theme, Young Teachers: The future of the Profession. The day provides the occasion to celebrate the teaching profession worldwide, to take stock of achievements, and to address some of the issues central for attracting and keeping the brightest minds and young talents in the profession.

20.01.2022 Hi friends of JJ's We have launched the JJ’s design-a-plate project for 2020! A perfect project for the kinder / school holidays. They also make excellent mementos of an unusual year or Christmas presents for friends and family.... THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF PLATES THAT CAN BE ORDERED and EVERYONE IS INVITED TO MAKE A PLATE. Children are welcome to make more than one plate and siblings, neighbours, cousins and friends are all welcome to get involved. The templates are in the comments below (need to be printed at A3) or hard-copies are available from the table at the front door of kinder. Artworks are due at kinder in the first week of term 4 (5th to 9th Oct) or you can scan and email your artwork to [email protected] (300 dpi at A3). If your children / the artists are not currently attending kinder please make sure artworks are CLEARLY LABELLED with contact details to ensure we can get in touch when plates are ready. Bunnings are also holding some fun weekend activities for the kids. Sausages supplied from Glenferrie Meats Hawthorn and bread by Bakers Delight Kew.

01.01.2022 Hi friends of JJ's, Well what a treat we have coming for the end of the year. We have a fabulous new wheelbarrow (worth $100+) and are currently filling it with all sorts of wine...... Raffle tickets will be on sale from the end of Oct. We'll post details as soon as they are finalised. This is our main fund raiser in a really challenging year. Please get involved. A prize also for JJ family that sells the most tickets. Money raised going towards removing a bit of a wall to enlarge the Red group teaching space for 2021. Stay tuned. Tell your friends!
