25.01.2022 Today was a fantastic Friday for the JMD Motorsport and Engineering team. To receive a newspaper with a well writen article on one of our new drivers for 2017 season is such an achievement. Congratulations to Coady Gorringe for being selected for a feature article within his local paper. A big thank you goes out to Swan Hill Guardian for highlighting our new young gun for 2017. 19.01.2022 JMD Motorsport and Engineering are super proud and excited to see what Ben Miller can do in 2017. Ben competited at the junior top guns last weekend hosted at Oakleigh go kart club, which most karters would know is one of the hardest and most physical tracks in Australian. With limited practice on Fridays prior to qaulifing, young gun Ben Miller strive to achieve an outstanding performance for his first race weekend of 2017 and first time in a professional team. JMD Motorsport and Engineering are proud to see Ben taking out 3rd overall for his class on his first visit to Oakleigh. Congratulations to Ben Miller on learning and adapting quickly to achieve an outstanding result.

Track is wet from overnight rain however the lovely melbourne sun is rising nicely over the city landscape. 12.01.2022 2016 Season kicks off tomorrow evening as Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club host the Junior Top Guns round 1. JMD Motorsport and Engineering has some new faces joining the team for this season. JMD would like to welcome the new members of the team and would very much appreciate if you could extend your support behind the new members of the team. Our new young gun Ben Miller will be hitting the very challenging track down at Oakleigh for the first time in order for further prepara...tion for the 2017 season. Ben is a young Cadet 12 driver who has only just started his racing career not to long ago with some fantastic results already. With the right assistance, guidance, experience and driver coaching JMD believes he can become a front runner at big meeting in the near future. So JMD has considered taking on a tall young man to show a tall driver can still be a front runner and a very fast driver. 02.01.2022 Yesterday kicked off the 2017 karting season in Ballarat. We were hoping to bring you live updates throughout the day, but being out in the country has its set backs and lack of reception is certainly a big one. The day started out promising, but unfortunately bad weather caused most of the finals to be cancelled. Coady had the most action filled day with many incidents during his races and was also the only JMD driver to compete in a final. Starting in 8th and caught in t...raffic, Coady finished 6th in his first heat, although had the 2nd fastest lap time at only .003 seconds behind the quickest. Coadys second heat was full of action. Starting 6th and well on pace, he managed to move up to 4th place before being involved in a crash and ending with a DNF. Despite only racing 3 laps, Coady still set the fastest lap time in this heat. In the final, Coady was once again on pace. Starting 9th, he quickly made his way through the field before being turned in on and spinning out. Half a lap behind the rest of the field with 12 laps to go, Coady not only made up time and yet again set the fastest lap, but managed to finish 8th in his class. Josh had an unfortunate day for his first race since 2015. With so many drivers in TaG 125 Light, his heats were split in 3s. He started his first heat in 12th and managed to finish 9th, but spent most of the race caught in traffic. The second heat looked to be much better with Joshs pace improving, however a flat rear right tyre and traffic kept him in 11th for the entirety of the race. Joshs final was cancelled due to torrential rain. Matt had the best result of the day for JMD, despite his final also being cancelled due to weather. Placing 3rd in his first heat and 2nd in his second heat, Matt was tied for 2nd but finished on the podium in 3rd after stewards revisited qualifying positions. Although its a positive result, Matt is understandably disappointed he didnt get a chance to compete in what would have been an exciting final. He was racing tactically during his heats for finals positioning and was looking forward to a better result.

01.01.2022 On the weekend the JMD team attended round 1 of the Golden Power Series in Bendigo. Team Principal Matt stepped down from racing this weekend to spend more time on driver development and kart set up. This round we were joined by our Cadet 12 driver Ben Miller for his first race meet of the year. Ben qualified 13th and drove great in his first heat, making up 4 places to finish 9th. Heat 2 had Ben starting in 13th again. After getting a fantastic start, Ben made his way up to ...5th place before engine problems caused him to retire on the final lap. The team worked hard to fix his engine, but unfortunately his weekend was over. Josh had another disappointing race weekend. A broken floorpan meant Josh had to retire only 2 laps into heat 1, which put him into traffic in the later heats. In an action packed final, Josh started 12th before an incident pushed him further back in the pack. He earned back a few places before another incident caused a flat front right tyre and he finished in 16th. Coady had a fantastic weekend. Qualifying 2nd, Coady focused on his lines and held second place in heats 1, 2 and 3. In the pre final, Coady had a great start and managed to hold first for the entire race, which earned him his first ever win in both KA3 Junior class and at an open race meet. In his final, he managed to make it to first off the line, but a mistake on the fourth lap pushed him back into 2nd place where he stayed for the remainder of the race. He took home a trophy and currently sits in second position on the Golden Power KA3 Junior standings. Pace Images
