23.01.2022 "People of the River" Grace Karskens book arrived today. She is a brilliant researcher and writer. Professor Tom Griffiths says "A masterpiece of historical writing that takes your breath away" Following our recent trip to Wilberforce and Wiseman's Ferry we quickly found some further insights to some of the early settlers. We thoroughly recommend this book to any descendants.

20.01.2022 Back to the Office 13 January. We intended that our Christmas / New Year break to return 20 January 2020. Early December our son and his family, 2 adults, 6 kids, and 4 dogs were evacuated from their property and moved in with us. A fire came within 3km of their property. Just last week our other son with his family holidaying in Milton on his wife's family farm saw a fire come within 50 metres and then just stop. We have enjoyed the Christmas/New year break with ple...nty of grand-kids sleep overs and outings. We will be away for the next few days and plan to be back to office earlier then planned on Monday 13 January 2020. If you are back to your family history research you can start to send your orders. To help you. we have a 2020 Special Offer for January and February. All NSW Full Transcriptions will be $18 during these months. See the flyer attached to this posting and spread the word. See more

13.01.2022 This posting has nothing to do with Family History Research but we want to share it. This is our grandson and if you click on the link you will understand why we want to share his message. When his dad asked him how much he wanted to raise, he said $100. It shows how sweet he is. The donations have gone passed that $100.
12.01.2022 2020 Anzac day. It was an inspiring experience to stand in our driveway and see neighbours in the street participating in this unusual and special way. We then had a cooked breakfast which is something we only do on special occasions. We always have a home display of ancestral servicemen and women who served from the Boer War, First World War and Second World War. We are planning this year to finish a book capturing their lives. Today Stanley Joseph Murrin [Allan's father] would had been 110. He was born in Subiaco Western Australia 25 April 1910. To all who served LEST WE FORGET.
11.01.2022 Lately we had a few request to compile transcriptions for clients applying for First Fleet membership. It is one thing to work through documents but another to visit locations. Today we took a drive to Wilberforce and stood by the grave of Matthew James Everingham who died in 1817. A convict from the Old Bailey he became a district constable. His death came on Christmas Day 1817, by accidental drowning carrying out his duty. It was touching to see some Australia Natives that had been left and now dried. Not forgotten the note written on the wrapping was from six times grand daughters. Then it was on to Wisemans Ferry and we stood by the grave of Peter Hibbs. He was a seaman on the HMS Sirius and he sailed with Bass and Flinders navigating the coast before finally settling on the Lower Hawkesbury.
10.01.2022 Another great series of "Who Do You Think You Are? " starts Tuesday 30 April on SBS
09.01.2022 This is the post from NSW Registry about the update of their website. Updated BDM Website Dear Family Historian,... Earlier this year we wrote to let you know about some changes to our website as part of a broader NSW Government project to consolidate over 1,000 sites. The project aims to make it easier for customers and business partners to find what they need, and to locate easy to understand, consistent information around Government services. What is changing? The web address to access the BDM homepage and all other links to access BDM information have been updated. Web page layouts have been designed with all devices in mind, making them easier to navigate particularly on mobile devices. You will also find a handy translation tool at the top of the page, allowing you to have the whole web page translated to a range of languages. When? From today the BDM homepage can be found at: www.nsw.gov.au/bdm You can also easily navigate to the online index search or other information relating to searching public records for births, deaths or marriages. What do I need to do? Automatic diversions are in place should you have any links from our previous website bookmarked, however we would recommend visiting and exploring the new site and bookmarking the pages that are most useful to you. The short guide below demonstrates the most direct way of accessing family history information and the online index search.
08.01.2022 Not much will stop Joy. You may not know that on 18 January she tripped and broke her hip. The next day she had a hip replacement. But the work did not stop. Emily and Kieryn are capable. They handle your requests, answered your question and you received your orders, all within the week of your order and there was no delay in the Express orders. Joy in the meantime was making her recovery and going though rehab. Fifteen days later she is home. She was home two days and in the office getting back to work. We have a wonderful team to always keep the wheels going. https://joymurrin.com.au/
