25.01.2022 PROJECT UPDATE // Ashwood’s getting floored! Our guys are hard at work installing some classic timber floors for a current extension project. You can’t go wrong with this dual-toned flooring, complimenting whatever decor this new space will be decked out with once completed. The knots and grains in these floorboards add some really nice details!

This is always one of our favourite stages of the process because we know that in a matter of weeks this property will be completely transformed. Just wait and see.

22.01.2022 PROJECT UPDATE // The Ashwood project taking shape! The framework is going up and the skeleton of this new [well it feels new ] home is coming together! By the time we’re finished, you won’t even recognise this house. For growing families, rather than moving home, it’s often more cost-effective and easier to extend/ renovate your existing property. It means you don’t have to go through the painstaking process of looking for the perfect house and packing up.

22.01.2022 PROJECT UPDATE // Our Ashwood site The walls are going up, and the plywood framing looks more like a room now. Now, it’s easier to picture where the windows and doors will go and imagine our clients making this space their own. Having the extra room gives them space to breathe, to expand and utilise their whole house as effectively as possible. We’re sure they’re so excited for our team to keep on hammering away. We can’t wait to see how it turns out!

21.01.2022 PROJECT HIGHLIGHT // Beaconsfield Primary School Over the holidays, we had some important maintenance to complete on these stairs at the school. What did we do? Made the stairs structurally sound... Improved the strength of the sub floor frame Created a space that the students will want to use Rebuilt the stairs around the existing tree. Safety is paramount out in the playground for these young students. Especially as the students were preparing to return to on-site learning, having the school in tip-top shape would be a fantastic way to welcome them back after so many months of virtual learning. We hope the students have been able to enjoy their school during this last term of the year!

18.01.2022 PROJECT HIGHLIGHT // Insurance rectification works in Prahran It’s a real letdown when our clients have engaged tradesmen who lack professionalism and care for their work. This often results in poor quality work which will ultimately cost them extra to fix! The Jodans team take pride in their skills and work [very humble, we know ] so we are glad when we can help with insurance rectification. This kitchen needed it’s door panels adjusted so they would sit flush and not rub against each other

18.01.2022 A key element to the ideal dining/living/kitchen space is *always* natural light Natural light adds warmth to the space itself, but also to the atmosphere. Given these areas are usually communal and where people spend quality time together, it’s like a cherry on top that makes your home a more lively, comforting and enjoyable place to be. We also love the way we designed the windows on the corner, giving our clients the option of reworking the space to suit their lifestyle needs. We imagine a cosy and cute breakfast/reading nook to soak up the sunshine would be amazing

15.01.2022 Welcome to our latest job site in Prahran. Unfortunately, some builders conceal future issues behind modern exteriors the owners of this home have since had water damage due to leaking windows. It’s not the best feeling [at all] after investing so much time and money [and heart] into a new home, and for there to be issues later down the track. The Jodans Building team are working on insurance rectification works for this property. We will be using our many years of experience and craftsmanship to fix problems now and in the future!

14.01.2022 PROJECT UPDATE // During lockdown, Jodans Building Services have been busy working on this project in Ashwood. We’ve been closely following all of the safety protocols, but it’s been great to stay busy. This family was looking at extending their home so that they could stay in the same location, close to family and friends despite their growing family requirements. We can’t wait to have this home done and dusted on time before summer days arrive. That’s the perfect time to enjoy a new home.

This barn door has been a favourite and becoming more of a common feature in homes over the last few years We don’t blame people for being barn door fans. They have a unique and rustic element to them and what’s old is new, right? If you’ve got tight spaces, a sliding door eliminates the need for that space. What do you think? 14.01.2022 TRANSFORMATION // East Bentleigh project We love a good before & after! These clients had an awesome foundation, with many original homes being quite spacious and just needing an upgrade and a contemporary refresh. We maintained some of the sweet, traditional details that made the home unique. With some clean, white paint and updated timber flooring, the completed renovations injected the house with some much needed life and brightening up!... It’s incredible how simplistic and unfussy design can work so well

06.01.2022 How gorgeous is this sun filled kitchen? Kitchens are some of the best spaces to play around with there’s lots of elements to include, lots of variables that change with the client’s lifestyle and how the location ties in. This spectacular convertible courtyard aims to make use of Melbourne’s contentious weather and allow natural light to stream in. Two courtyards have been used to make the most of sunny days, create outdoor living and versatility possible.... It’s such a stunning project we are in love!
