25.01.2022 She knew and she did nothing.

25.01.2022 A short while ago Parliament was raided by ICAC investigators. While I was asking the Premier questions in Parliament, investigators were raiding the Liberal Party Whips office in the room next door.

25.01.2022 A moving speech from Anoulack Chanthivong MP, who presented a petition to Parliament with nearly 20,000 signatures calling for the M5 East toll to be scrapped. The Berejiklian Government‘s ‘toll mania’ is slugging motorists in the middle of a recession.

24.01.2022 With Ryan Park and Father James to comment on easing COVID-19 health restrictions in places of worship in the lead up to Christmas, one of the holiest days for Christians.

24.01.2022 In my speech to NSW Farmers today I’ll be announcing our plan to create jobs across rural and regional NSW. Our plan to create more jobs in the National Parks and Wildlife Service and other agencies will reduce fuel loads through hazard reduction and better land management practices. Creating jobs while protecting lives and livelihoods. With the right investment from government we can deliver for the land, for the environment and for jobs. It means more people in work, more productive farmland, improved biodiversity and less fire risk.

24.01.2022 We knew the Government would eventually come after the rest of the electricity assets, breaking its election promise. Labor will always fight against this.

24.01.2022 Unlike Gladys Berejiklian, when I suspected corruption, I reported it to ICAC.

23.01.2022 Live Music in NSW is under threat. Sign the petition calling on the NSW Government to work with MusicNSW and industry representatives to devise a stimulus package that will ensure the ongoing survival of our live music industry. 23.01.2022 The inquiry into the NSW Government grants program has begun. Here is just some of what we know so far.

23.01.2022 Have you heard the good news? Sweeping changes to liquor laws will make mirror balls legal in licensed venues. Finally! Next step: Turn the lights on and get venues back to business.... John Graham

23.01.2022 For those interested in our call for an easing of restrictions for places of worship, I’ll be going live at our media conference at 11am.

23.01.2022 Domestic violence is a national crisis. Its been seven months since Hannah Clarke and her children were murdered. NSW Labors bill on coercive control will criminalise the abuse that leads to physical violence. Perpetrators could be jailed for 10 years.

22.01.2022 Health services in rural and regional NSW are in crisis. Theres no use playing the blame game, it just needs to be fixed. Thats why we need an urgent inquiry into rural and regional health services.

22.01.2022 Today’s report from NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into the provision of health services in South West Sydney shows a shameful level of neglect from this Government. Major short-falls in funding. Unfair and inequitable allocation of resources. Historic failings. It’s leaving patients with unacceptable waits for essential services and medical staff without access to key equipment. The Government needs to urgently act and stop treating families in Western Sydney like second class citizens.

22.01.2022 Let's give the people of NSW the Labor Budget that they deserve.

22.01.2022 Weve seen four Liberal Ministers fail to express their support in John Barilaro. Today they have a chance to back our no confidence motion in the Deputy Premier. While John Barilaro remains Deputy Premier, the Government remains divided. We need stable Government more than ever.

22.01.2022 Massive investment in energy infrastructure must benefit NSW workers and businesses. Labor is urging the Government to support measures to maximise local procurement and jobs. NSW made means NSW jobs.

22.01.2022 What a wonderful day visiting these Harris Park businesses with Julia Finn MP and Sameer Pandey. I was amazed by their resilience throughout the worst economic recession in a generation. They’re surviving these unprecedented times without any financial assistance from the Government. In the Parramatta electorate over 93% of businesses did not receive support when they needed it. Ginger Indian Restaurant Taj Indian Sweets & Restaurant Radhe Wholesale and Retail The Saree Shop, Sydney, Australia. Rajwadi Restaurant Patel Brothers - Wholesale Retail Imports Dosa Plaza - Harris Park.

21.01.2022 The Premier has refused to answer important questions about integrity in her Government. Adam Searle MLC explains why the Legislative Council has asked the Independent Commission Against Corruption to investigate.

21.01.2022 There's no denying that 2020 has been a challenging year. People of faith have done the right thing all year, now we need to let them finish the year together in worship. Let's have social distancing eased in places of worship to match other social spaces.

21.01.2022 John Barilaro puts himself and his interests ahead of NSW. He has to go.

21.01.2022 While the Government has been tearing themselves apart all week, the elective surgery waitlist hit 100,000. Its time the Government got back to work!

21.01.2022 With Walt Secord to comment on the Government's refusal to accept increased funding to ICAC and on the Premier's admission that pork barrelling is commonplace in her government.

21.01.2022 Disarray in the Berejiklian Government means the people of NSW are being let down.

21.01.2022 I’m calling for a Royal Commission so we can hear from people with mental health conditions and ensure everyone gets the help and support they need.

20.01.2022 A Parliamentary Inquiry has uncovered shocking failings across healthcare in South West Sydney. The people of the south-west should be able to have confidence in our public health system. The neglect must end now.

20.01.2022 Ryan Park on today's damning report into the provision of health services in South West Sydney.

20.01.2022 Gladys Berejiklian changed the rules of the Government Grants program to overwhelmingly benefit Coalition-held seats. She has manipulated this $250 million program to create an election slush fund for the Coalition.

19.01.2022 She knew. Did nothing.

19.01.2022 The Premier has refused to order the Department of Premier and Cabinet to retrieve computer files that were deleted by her office, showing how the $252 million Stronger Communities Fund was rorted.

19.01.2022 I have no confidence in Gladys Berejiklian and neither should the NSW Parliament.

19.01.2022 Cities around the world have acted on outdoor dining, while we are still talking about it. Labor wants this in place for the start of daylight savings. The weather is warming up, it will be lighter for longer, and people want to be safely out and about.

19.01.2022 I never fail to be moved by the spirit of Remembrance Day. Though the guns may have fallen silent over 100 years ago, we won’t ever forget those who have served. Lest we forget.

19.01.2022 Tomorrow Labor will debate a motion of no confidence in Gladys Berejiklian. She knew about the business dealings of disgraced former Liberal MP Daryl Maguire and didn’t report them to ICAC.

19.01.2022 Gladys Berejiklian knew Daryl Maguire was getting commissions for brokering property deals as far back as 2014. She even congratulated him in private texts and asked for details. She knew Maguire was $1.5 million in debt and knew that he was working on something in Badgerys Creek that he believed could clear his debts. When Maguire told her a land deal was done, she replied I don’t need to know about that bit. (In another taped call, Maguire talked about introducing his ‘l...ittle friend’ to someone and asked if the Premier knew who he meant. She again replied I don’t need to know.) She knew Maguire took property developer Louise Waterhouse to Berejiklian’s office and arranged a meeting with Jock Sowter from the Roads Minister’s office. She denied knowing about it, until ICAC played a recorded phone call in which he told her. She knew Maguire was directly intervening in a private business deal between Australian-based agribusiness UWE and a Chinese company, and she knew that UWE was not in his electorate. She advised him how to push the Minister for Trade to help fix the problem, and said she ‘didn’t care’ if he caused trouble for the Minister. Maguire had taken money from UWE in the past & had discussed being appointed as a board member or adviser after his Parliamentary career. She knew Maguire was advocating for property developers in Sydney and she received representations about a developer’s specific project direct to her private inbox. She knew Maguire had various outside business interests but never checked whether he was complying with the Ministerial Code of Conduct or the code of conduct for Members of Parliament. She continued to maintain a relationship with Maguire even after he was disgraced at ICAC back in 2018, and only cut off contact with him in September this year after she was called before ICAC.

18.01.2022 More people are turning to the gig economy to find work and the Berejiklian Government must act urgently to properly protect them. Rider safety will be under the spotlight at today’s parliamentary inquiry. There’ll be evidence from the General Manager of UberEats and Labor will continue to push for minimum, enforceable workplace health and safety laws.

18.01.2022 I see a better future for politics, where leaders don’t unfairly channel hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to shore up support ahead of an election. As Liz Daniels reports: The Premier’s cavalier attitude today does little to stop questions about her judgement, especially in a week when she was caught flouting Covid guidelines.

18.01.2022 I asked John Barilaro if he would rule out quitting the Coalition again... he wouldnt.

18.01.2022 A heartfelt LShanah Tovah to Jewish Australians across Australia as they prepare to mark Rosh Hashanah. This year has been hard, but I hope families across our state will be able to enjoy this years Rosh Hashanah and take comfort in the values and traditions that have sustained the Jewish community for thousands of years. Chag sameach!

18.01.2022 Health outcomes shouldnt be determined by your postcode. Everyone in NSW deserves access to the best possible health services. Ryan Park for Keira on the shocking revelations in rural and regional health revealed on 60 Minutes Australia last night.

17.01.2022 A busy day before we head into two weeks of Parliament! Caught up with Fiona Fan, the new Director General for the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office. We discussed a range of issues from tourism, trade and supporting our Taiwanese Australian community in NSW. A morning tea for the outgoing NSW Jewish Board of Deputies CEO, Vic Alhadeff. Vic has been been a tireless advocate for multiculturalism and our Jewish community in NSW. ... A tour of the beautiful Auburn Gallipoli Mosque with my NSW Labor colleagues. The mosque was vandalised recently, and I was so pleased to hear how the community has united and come together to assist with repairs.

17.01.2022 Were all hoping we dont have a bushfire season like the last but we need to prepare for summer and the fires it brings to NSW. This weekend is the NSW Rural Fire Service Get Ready Weekend. For more information, please visit: http://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/news-and-media/getready

17.01.2022 The Government MUST use NSW steel in renewable energy infrastructure. It should be in legislation to drive economic recovery and promote local jobs, manufacturing and support supply chains.

17.01.2022 While the Liberals and Nationals tear each other apart, weve secured an inquiry into rural and regional health. To lodge a submission, please visit: https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au//P/inquiry-details.aspx

16.01.2022 She knew, she did nothing.

16.01.2022 NSW Labor calls for the Modern Slavery Act 2018 to finally be brought into law. Two years since it passed Parliament, NSW still awaits the strong protections Gladys Berejiklian promised against exploitation, forced labour and human trafficking. Please sign the petition here: ... https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au//Pages/ePetition-details See more

15.01.2022 On Sunday I went to Mass and everyone was heeding the health orders. Later that day I went to the Cricket and many people were not doing the right thing. I was struck by the double standards for venues such as clubs and pubs versus places of worship. You can cheer and yell for your team at the footy but you can’t sing Christmas carols. ... We need to bring places of worship in line with other venues - our mosques, temples, churches and synagogues - all should have restrictions eased. I’m advocating for the ban on singing and chanting to be lifted and for the 2sq metre rule to be implemented. People of faith have missed out on gathering for Easter, Ramadan, Diwali and Buddha’s birthday (and many more important events) - next week is Hanukkah and again, our Jewish community will be restricted in how they gather. Let’s ease restrictions in time for Christmas for places of worship - it’s been a difficult year and people need their faith and family.

15.01.2022 Well this will make for another interesting parliament week. The Nationals and Liberal Party are at war when they should be focussed on creating jobs. Why wont Gladys show leadership and sort out this mess.

15.01.2022 Shocking revelations from the NSW Government Grants inquiry today. 95% of Government grants funding went to Liberal or National held seats. It isnt right and it isnt fair.

15.01.2022 Serious deficiencies at Health Services in rural and regional NSW are putting lives at risk. Labor called for a parliamentary inquiry, announced today, to shine a light on this issue. We must do better for families living in country NSW.

14.01.2022 Jobs are at the centre of Labor’s plan for economic recovery. Our NSW Jobs First Bill will overhaul the State’s purchasing and procurement powers to support local jobs, industry and supply chains.

14.01.2022 I give notice that I will move that the Deputy Premier no longer enjoys the confidence of this house.

13.01.2022 Yesterday I joined Jeff Drayton - Labor for Upper Hunter and John Graham to commit to a full interchange at Putty Road for the Singleton bypass. Today the Nationals said they’d do it after listening to ‘community feedback.’ Call me cynical but it’s a by-election and they’re now scrambling to commit to a project that should have been already underway. ... This project should be open. It hasn’t started. We want this built now, not 10 years after it was first promised by the National Party.

12.01.2022 Today, and everyday, we will remember them.

12.01.2022 If you cant rule it out, you need to resign.

12.01.2022 After the massive Service NSW data breach debacle, the Government must take cybersecurity seriously. Submissions for the Cybersecurity Inquiry close today. Have your say here: https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au//P/inquiry-details.aspx

12.01.2022 This is all about putting musicians to work. It's all about creating jobs and it's about celebrating the incredible talent we have here in Australia and particularly here in New South Wales.

12.01.2022 The Premier was asked to order her Department to recover deleted files proving her involvement in the Stronger Communities Grants Fund... she refused.

12.01.2022 ‘Her reputation and her judgment are irreparably bruised’. Gladys Berejiklian should stand down.

11.01.2022 As a local, Jeff Drayton - Labor for Upper Hunter understands how important the Singleton Bypass project is and why a full interchange at Putty Road is needed. Singleton deserves a proper bypass, not the second-rate ‘half interchange’ option that’s being proposed. It deserves a bypass that doesn’t rob the town and small businesses of economic opportunities. The fact that the Nationals in Macquarie Street have ignored the community’s sensible calls on this issue is unacceptabl...e. I joined Jeff and the Shadow Minister for Roads John Graham today in Singleton to announce Labor’s commitment to $25 million to properly build the full Putty Road interchange. This will preserve the town's economic vitality and safely divert thousands of heavy vehicles away from the main business district. #nswpol

11.01.2022 Today I’ll unveil Labor’s plan for economic recovery in NSW. My Budget reply speech highlights Labor’s NSW Made Policy. It includes a Jobs First Advocate and a local jobs guarantee.

10.01.2022 A day after the budget, Transport for NSW is in chaos with the head of the department ‘leaving unexpectedly’ - at the same time, we’re pursuing the Government over a toxic land deal which is now before the ICAC.

09.01.2022 After more than two years of delays, the Government has has reannounced the primary school it promised for Edmondson Park. Families will have to wait until 2023 for it to open.

09.01.2022 The 150-year-old Windsor Bridge is the latest victim of the heritage-destroying Berejiklian Government. The communitys pleas to keep the old bridge open as a pedestrian and cycle link to Macquarie Park have been ignored. Labor stands with them in the fight to save the historic Windsor Bridge.

09.01.2022 Every day for the last 3 years, Neal and Jackie have protested the Premiers destruction of the 150-year-old Windsor Bridge. Their passion for the history of their community is palpable and Labor stands with them.

09.01.2022 The NSW State Archives and Records Authority is the second agency to investigate the shredding of documents in the Premier’s office. The documents show the Premier approved 95% of the Stronger Communities Fund for Coalition-held seats before the 2019 election.

09.01.2022 The Stronger Communities Fund was a quarter of a billion dollars. 95% of that went to Liberal and National seats. It was a campaign slush fund. How is that appropriate?

09.01.2022 Today I moved a motion of no confidence in the Deputy Premier John Barilaro. This is a long speech because this was an important matter. Over the past week it has become clear that this Government cannot function while John Barilaro is the Deputy Premier.... When this motion was debated, not a single Liberal Minister spoke in his support. This is a Coalition that is completely and utterly divided at a time when we need stable Government more than ever

08.01.2022 Our local health services across South West Sydney have been chronically underfunded by the NSW Government, despite near record population growth. Lives are at stake here.

08.01.2022 Well done Gladys. Youre doing a super job (of avoiding all responsibility).

08.01.2022 John Barilaro will continue to hold the Government to ransom as long as he stays on as Deputy Premier. He made this clear in the Parliament yesterday when he wouldnt rule out doing this all again.

08.01.2022 Every day the Coalition is fighting one another, theyre not fighting for jobs. People are suffering. Theyre worried about their jobs, families and mortgages. The Premier allowed this to happen. She needs to fix this mess.

08.01.2022 This is a long video, but it is important one. In debating the motion of no confidence in the Premier today, I outlined the reasons why I have been calling on Gladys Berejiklian to resign since the ICAC revelations. This is not about her personal life, this is about the standard that she accepts and the behaviour she tolerates from her Ministers. We must hold ourselves to the highest standard. ... If we allow the unacceptable to become acceptable, we have failed in our duty the people of NSW.

08.01.2022 Today I’ve called for restrictions in places of worship to be eased. The current restrictions are unfair and people of faith deserve an opportunity to come together.

08.01.2022 How on earth is it possible that information relating to an ICAC inquiry was hidden in the Government Whips office for up to two years? It is beyond belief that no one in the Government knew about this.

08.01.2022 Its another day of absolute chaos and division inside the Berejiklian Government. Its been revealed that an independent Ombudsman Report has found SafeWork acted unlawfully after ministerial demands from Matt Kean,. Not only has the Premier has failed to take any action against Matt Kean for his behaviour, we now know she has failed to act despite a massive conflict of interest inside Cabinet.... In a clear breach of the Ministerial code of conduct Matt Kean failed to declare this conflict and whats more he stayed in the room for the entire discussion. The only reason we know all about this is because of a massive and unprecedented leak, its like reading a transcript of the Cabinet meeting. This Government is so divided they are tearing one another apart behind closed Cabinet doors and every day in the media.

07.01.2022 This isn’t about a relationship, this is about corruption at the top of a rotten Government.

07.01.2022 Today we will introduce Labors Toll Free Bill into the Legislative Assembly. This Bill strikes a blow against the Governments toll-mania Sydney is arguably the most tolled city in the world and its only getting worse under the Berejiklian Government. This year weve seen a new toll placed on the old M5 road, slugging residents of South Western Sydney. Shortly well see yet another toll road open in Northconnex hitting the hip pockets of countless commuters and workers. The Legislative Council has passed our Toll Free Period bill and were urgently calling on the Government to let it pass in the Legislative Assembly.

07.01.2022 Strong, stable Government cannot be achieved whilst John Barilaro is Deputy Premier.

07.01.2022 We must work together at a state and federal level to make a meaningful change across the country to keep women and children safe.

07.01.2022 The Legislative Council has supported our inquiry into rural and regional health services.

06.01.2022 One day the Premier justifies using hundreds of millions in taxpayers’ money for her own political purposes. The next day we learn Gladys Berejiklian will knock back a $7.3 million funding boost for the Independent Commission Against Corruption. Integrity agencies need independent funding. They shouldn't have to go cap in hand to ministers or agencies begging for money, when they may be investigating those same ministers or agencies. The ICAC Chief Commissioner told a parliamentary inquiry there were ‘serious questions’ around the Government’s handling of the $252 million Stronger Communities Fund. 95% of the money went to Coalition-held seats. It’s never been more important for integrity agencies to be properly and independently funded.

05.01.2022 Great to hit the streets of Singleton with Jeff Drayton - Labor for Upper Hunter and John Graham. Enjoyed catching up with locals and lunch at the Coal Rock Cafe.

05.01.2022 I am with NSW Deputy Labor Leader Yasmin Catley MP, Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy Adam Searle MLC and Shadow Minister for Natural Resources Paul Scully MP to comment on the Government's energy policy and NSW jobs.

05.01.2022 On the issue of Daryl Maguire, Ms Berejiklian failed on multiple occasions to do what was right. If the Premier does not resign, we accept an impossibly low standard of integrity in NSW. And we cannot do that.

04.01.2022 Extraordinary scenes at Parliament today. Evidence relating to corruption hearing found hidden in the Liberal Party Whips office. Officers seize hard drive and Premier declines to say if theres more to come.

04.01.2022 I’ve been visiting small businesses across NSW and today I was in Campsie with my good friend Sophie Cotsis, Member for Canterbury. The State budget next week must look at better supporting small business owners during this pandemic and recession.

04.01.2022 Prison officers deserve to be safe at work. Too many are suffering serious physical and psychological injuries. The Berejiklian Govt needs an urgent plan to lift workplace health and safety standards.

04.01.2022 Today I’ll give my Budget reply speech. My plan puts NSW workers first. We should be creating jobs and business opportunities right here in NSW to help drive economic recovery.

03.01.2022 The Government should match the $45 million package for small businesses on the southern border to help struggling communities in northern NSW.

03.01.2022 We can't forget the people in NSW doing it tough. The Government needs to put people first.

03.01.2022 The Governments failed solar scheme isnt supporting local jobs and industry. Why has the Government given up on local manufacturing when these panels could be NSW Made?

03.01.2022 What we are seeing with this Premier is a pattern of behaviour. A culture of lies and cover-up. And it is not acceptable.

03.01.2022 Remember when Dominic Perrottet said they should be applauded for the work theyve done?

03.01.2022 Janelle Saffin - Member for Lismore and Mick Veitch MLC are commenting on Queensland shifting its border bubble and on the need for a relief package for local small businesses.

02.01.2022 Instability and chaos continues between the Liberals and their junior Coalition partner the Nationals.

02.01.2022 Today the Liberal and National Government voted down an additional $7.3 million funding for the ICAC. In an unprecedented move, the Government bypassed the Upper House, instead taking the Budget to the Governor to avoid supporting the increase in funding to allow ICAC to do its job. Shame on them.

02.01.2022 Minister Matt Kean pressuring SafeWork over its investigation into Blue Mountains City Councils handling of asbestos is like a police minister influencing the police over a criminal investigation. Even worse, when this went to Cabinet, Minister Kean did not disclose his potential conflict of interest, remained in the room and took part in the discussion - which, according to news reports today, was then shut down. Disgraceful.

02.01.2022 Let’s go NSW!

02.01.2022 Labor is the first major political party to bring forward a coercive control bill to the Parliament. This will save lives. Im very proud of the excellent work by my colleague Anna Watson MP, assisted by Trish Doyle MP, Shadow Minister for Women and the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, and Paul Lynch MP, Shadow Attorney General.

01.01.2022 Tonight at 6 o’clock I’ll be addressing NSW Farmers as part of their 30 by 30 Webinar Series. I hope you can join me to discuss Labor’s plan for land and environmental jobs and our vision for rural and regional NSW.

01.01.2022 Liberal Minister Andrew Constance has said the Coalition has never been more divided. In a recession and a pandemic NSW needs the Government focused and operating, not playing John Barilaros games.

01.01.2022 Today and everyday, thank you.

01.01.2022 I'm delivering my Budget reply speech.
