14.01.2022 I’m a bit late but a reflection is necessary nonetheless. 2019 started off rocky but to my surprise, it progressed into a year of opportunities and growth. Poetry/Spoken word has not only gotten me through the tough times but it has also opened doors by enabling me to transition into acting with the assistance of directors who saw the transferability of my creative skills. Thula Thula was an exciting way to make my debut to acting and Shukuru high has been an interesting experience. I’m looking forward to what 2020 will bring

04.01.2022 The video for my spoken word poem 'Three-Fold Rise' is finally out. I wanted to use my creative practice and love for film making to capture the essence of both my individual and our collective experience with the pandemic, especially the vilification and mistreatment of vulnerable groups and CALD communities in Australia. Above all else, the poem aims to reassure the community of our inevitable rise from the pandemic which shall be a glorious ‘three fold rise’ from covid-19, racism and system suppressing our authentic individual identities; when our capitalist world slowed down many were afforded the opportunity to discover or seriously pursue their passion(s). We refuse to go back to 'normal' as we continue rising above the problems magnified (not created) by the pandemic.
