18.01.2022 HOOF INJURY This was caused by the horse kicking out at a tin shed, injuring the lateral aspect of her hoof. The coronary band appears to be intact so hopefully with a bit of patience and bandaging she will regrow her hoof.

18.01.2022 This horse was diagnosed via endoscopy with wind infirmity. This is generally caused by palatal instability, dorsal displacement of the soft palate or pharyngeal airway collapse. We teamed up with Dr Tom Ahern who performed a Oral Palatopharyngoplasty (OPP) referred to as the ‘Ahern Procedure’. The idea behind the surgery is to provide tension on the soft palate therefore improving the oro-pharyngeal seal (OPS) and reducing the ability of the soft palate to creep up and compromise the nasopahrynx. 07.01.2022 FRACTURE Fractures to the MCIII/MTIII are common long bone injuries of athletic horses. These bones are under so much pressure and force that it makes them vulnerable to single catastrophic failures. A diagnosis of non-displaced lateral condylar fracture was made through dorsopalmar radiographic projection.
